But neither does ABC Late News and SBS Late News though. Late News is never going to be consistent with the shows running from 7:30pm being so varied in length.
According to The Australian, the Saturday edition of A Current Affair will continue.
Swift also hints at a couple of new franchises for 2021.
Would be nice to see some new local franchises next year, but I have a sneaky suspicion that it would most likely to be some of the shows they planned for this year but were probably canned due to COVID-19, such as Step Back in Time and The Parent Jury.
One thing that Nine isn’t planning, despite content quota levels being relaxed, is screening more imported content. Could Nine get away with an import at 7.30pm over a number of weeks? “No,” said Nine’s Swift. “The reality is we can’t get away with content that is not Australian. We are not seeking to minimise local drama. We are seeking to minimise kids because no one is watching. The recent quota relaxation isn’t some clever ruse by commercial broadcasters to weasel their way out of stuff. It’s a reset point where the business needs to be reviewed. We are only talking about changing sub-quotas, not the overall Australian content quotas.”
Adrian, the reason why no-one is watching kids programming is the commercial networks are burying it early in the morning on the multi-channels. If Australian produced kids programs were promoted even one-tenth as much as the reality tentpoles, people would watch them.
Exactly. Something like the ABC’s recent success with Bluey could be enjoyed by Seven, Nine or Ten if they invested more in children’s programming.
He seems to forget two things:
-
Kids are watching (you just have to see Bluey for example) and are watching in droves (each day’s multichannel ratings says it all, with ABC Kids/Comedy dominating the top 20), but they just don’t watch 9Go (or 10 Peach/7Flix/7Two) and the reason is in the next point.
-
They don’t provide any incentives for kids to watch 9Go for kids programming when they don’t even promote half of it. The only thing they promote from that channel is Survivor, movies, Big Bang and maybe the occasional documentary and encores. Heck even the oldies programming from 9Gem gets more promotion than kids shows on 9Go.
(I did try searching for “Emergence” in the MS search bar, but returned no results LOL).
I beg to differ.
28-day consolidated.

Bluey getting more viewers than MAFS - that’s gold!
Yeah. Adrian swift is talking shit
I think Swift was referring to the kids program on 9Go and that no one is watching. Though he is completely wrong because they are, but they’re just on ABC Kids, not 9Go.
As a side note, maybe Nine/Seven/10 might be interested in Bluey now that it’s proven it’s a bigger hit than MAFS this year
All the performances from Music from the Home Front will be released as a 3CD album, Michael Gudinski revealed exclusively.

EDIT 1/5: Gudinski has revealed more details about the album to the Herald Sun.
I went directly to the artists this week, I’m hoping every artist will agree to be on the album. We’re going as fast as we can, they get the opportunity to remix or fix any vocals.
JB HiFi have agreed to sell it at no profit. I’m picturing it as a 3CD set, hopefully that will be out within three weeks, then I want to get it pressed on commemorative deluxe vinyl, that will take eight weeks at least. I think some of the songs will go on streaming services too.

Recorded Chicago Med Season 4 ep 13 that aired Wed May 7.5.20. It seems they cut out the first 3:53 (everything before the title card). It didn’t seem to make sense, so we tried watching it on Nine Now and yes. They cut the first nearly 4 minutes from the broadcast. VERY ANNOYING. It airs late at night, why bother cutting anything ?
I just looked at the episode description on Wikipedia for that, could it be because of the story?
The nurses in the ED avoid treating Dr. Choi’s patient, a child molester. ?
Why would that matter? The show airs after 11 pm in most states.
