I thought weeks ago why hadn’t Seven premiered “Inferno” yet (as it’s been the usual 1.5 - 2 years that FTA networks have to wait before premiering a movie).
Makes sense why now, Nine acquired rights. And often when a network loses a movie to another (final runs), they’ll air them close together, like this film’s aforementioned predecessors on 7Two weeks ago and now 7flix tomorrow and Monday week.
If Nine want to find out why viewers aren’t choosing them as their number one network, look no further than the decision to air three hours of a British talent show in primetime. Britain’s Got Talent wound up in early June. Anyone can Google the result and Nine expect us to sit there and watch it with ads. Seriously insulting.
I can see why the ratings have suffered this year.
Last year was fresh and new and exciting and we kind of accepted the annoying parts of the show.
This year the annoying things are compounded by the fact that it is no longer fresh.
Those annoying things include:
When they saying ‘after the break’ the clip can be a full minute or so. A preview for after the break should not be that long.
Some people get a full back story and then fall off in 30 seconds, yet some people actually make it up the wall and all they get is ‘while you were away’ and some 10 second clip.
Those crazy promos about ‘biggest controversy’ and that turns out to be nothing more than a favourite that falls off in the first obstacle.
Nine must think they still are and turns out I was right (about Brosnan Bonds)…
They’ve moved “Goldeneye” and “Tomorrow Never Dies” to the main channel this Saturday. Probably also because the Ninja Warrior encores flopped last week.

Nine’s schedule is so poor. I cannot believe they are showing a movie and and UK Talent competition on the main channel in primetime. Beyond embarrassing.
It is simply awful. I didn’t even see the Monday show. What on earth is that rubbish? Simply and utterly no imagination or money spent after their reality tentpole. They expected Ninja to give them cheap wins and I am actually glad it hasn’t turned out that way. Nine need to start filling their late evening schedule with some decent Australian content.
Channel Nine has 7 eps of Ninja Warrior remaining. The Block will air at 7PM on 5 August, followed by back-to-back eps of Ninja Warrior Final at 8PM. What happens to 60 Minutes is unknown.
Waste for Ninja Warrior, but it hasn’t worked as hoped and such double header programming should ensure big wins. But I don’t think it’s great for viewers. If all that does eventuate.
You are missing something really important! The Series Premiere of When Celebrities Go Horribly Wrong is on Monday, 30 July. Pencil that in your diary. A real highlight.
off topic
Brosnan is my favourite and Tomorrow Never Dies is a favourite. But in terms of the best quality and universal praise, Connery the original and probably the best, followed by Moore (both went a film too long). I believe Dalton was Ian Fleming’s quintessential Bond however.
