What the actual hell is this lineup for next year? Sports, MAFS, Floor, Block, Golden Bachelor and…that’s it?

Just awful all round.

Basically sport dominates Nine’s 2027 schedule. Add MAFS and The Block and you don’t have much else.

Looks like Lego Masters is gone.

This is the same old — sports, MAFS, The Block, The Floor, etc. unfortunately there is nothing fresh genres.

And Ten gets criticism for no content! This is pretty ordinary too.

I think the difference is 10 get rid of content and don’t bring anything new out either. 9 don’t really need to bring in new content when their current lineup is doing so well.

Exactly. Nothing new to see but ratings are consistent for years on programs like MAFS and The Block which already take up close to 6 months on their schedule.

TV isn’t in the best place so it makes sense putting new content onto Stan and 9Now over FTA in current advertising climate?

I barely watched Nine in 2026 (apart from the two 70 Years Of Television specials) and based on today’s upfront I don’t think 2027 will be any different.

There might be some interesting things if I look through the Stan list but it would have to be pretty compelling to get me to sign back up. But I guess that’s Nine goal, to get people to pay for the premium stuff and leave the dregs for free-to-air.

Same as 10 with Paramount+!

It’s not just the Nine goal. It’s the goal of all networks. More money in streamers.

Surprised Nine’s sport wasn’t detailed more, seems to be lacking a bit compared to previous Upfronts vs other highlights and content. Unless that’s just the press kit and it was discussed more at the event? Or further breakout releases to come?

I’d have thought, in a year without Summer or Winter Olympics, in terms of ‘major’ sport they might spend a little more time pumping up the tennis (national appeal/summer) and rugby league (Nsw and Qld/winter).

Especially with the new record NRL broadcast rights deal and this year’s audience surge with the AO (especially those last few days of the tournament which had some of the most memorable matches of all time).

The Ashes, Rugby World Cup and Netball World Cup will be pretty big events for them.

Some notable absences: Parental Guidance, Australian Crime Stories: The Investigators, Lego Masters, The Hundred with Andy Lee

Other shows not mentioned: Find My Beach House Australia, Find My Country House Australia, A Remarkable Place to Die, Topknotz, Shark, RBT

The Hundred is one of the more surprising ones not listed for next year. Always rates well and good filler program.

Both shows have Hamish and Andy and both from Endemol… interesting!

I guess that means Guess Whom? might return then
