Maybe Leo and his source was right all along. Nine News is coming and NBN News is gone.
Perhaps. The only things is, thatās their corporate logo.
Since NBN is under Nine ownership, they could be using it for the overall business rather than the name used for their local news service.
I get itās a strong brand in the area and a legacy thing, but does much change by becoming 9 News?
Most people associate it with 9 anyway since thatās where the programming comes from, and I daresay after any possible changes most locals will probably still refer to it as NBN for a long time.
Guess weāll soon see.
I thought NBN was co-located at SCA Coffs Harbour?
But arenāt they known as Channel 9, 23 hours a day? So it makes sense they would use the Channel 9 logo over NBN News, especially if that is a sales office.
They are, that building is there Sales Office.
Yeah, using the 9Nine corporate logo is a bit surprising (I wouldāve expected the regular 9 logo), although the 9Nine corporate logo existing at all is a bit odd.
Hopefully the 9NBN News logo being taken down does indicate it being rebranded 9News, soon.
Why would they not have all of their operations in the same building? Whether that be at SCA or in their own building?
Maybe because of the Nine/SCA affiliation split, which saw WIN take over NBN sales (previously done by SCA).
I know. I mean, I like that logo, but thereās no consistency. Darwin HQ uses the corporate logo as well. Perth and Melb HQās use dotty 9. Really, the corporate logo is the odd one out.
Doesnāt really matter, it all points to the same business, advertisers deal with the corporate brand rather than one channel brand anyway.
I think branding does matter. One logo for all exterior building signage would surely be preferred from a corporate branding perspective.
It is not branding in general I talking about, it is that in this particular case I highly doubt there would be confusion between such separate markets like Coffs Harbour or Perth. As long as you know it is Nine.
Iām not necessarily saying thereās widespread confusion. I just think there should be consistency with branding. A topic that is well discussed on this forum. We all like to see consistency
Which is one thing 9NBN has never been very good at, particularly when it comes to channel branding and news branding.
They should of stuck to the 9NBN brand for channels and branding.
I think that would have been too expensive to implement consistently.
Oh, my thinking was of all the buildings that still have the old signage around. A (would you say) modern approach?
The Taree, Tamworth, Central Coast and Newcastle buildings, still have this signage.
Thank god youāre not
The worst thing in the world is dual branding.
