What’s back?
Facebook page.
Ah! Thanks!
Is this Honeysuckle or maybe 1 Denison?
I can’t remember what the control room at Mosbri looks like.
Honeysuckle isn’t operational yet, is it?
Must be Mosbri?
Jane just appeared in a live cross on Nine News Sydney on location in the Sydney CBD.
Has she left NBN News?
Nah does one day a week at TCN.
I thought the promo may have been filmed as a test from Honeysuckle. I’m down on Saturday, will pop my head in and see what’s cooking.
Sorry. In my original post I wrote it was a promo for Mother’s Day. Then some idiot (me) edited it.
I thought it might have been a test coming from the new office.
NBN TELEVISION ART COLLECTION AUCTION
After close to 60 Years at their Mosbri Crescent studios NBN Television will be shortly relocating to new premises at 28 Honeysuckle Drive, Newcastle and the artwork collection is to be auctioned.
The NBN Television art collection was started in the late 1970’s and developed up until the end of the 1980’s. The collection was recognised as the first corporate art collection for Newcastle with only The University of Newcastle, BHP Newcastle, and the Hunter Valley Research Foundation acknowledged as having art in their offices within the Hunter region.
The ‘eclectic’ range of styles and medium represented is how it will be remembered. The reputation of the artist was not the driving force behind building the collection. Supporting contemporary artists and adorning the offices and boardroom with artworks to enhance the corporate environment was its aim and was appreciated by staff and visitors alike.
Cooks Hill Galleries, the premier Newcastle and Hunter Valley art gallery will host the auction which will be held on Wednesday 26 May 2021. The gallery has been assigned to sell the collection of 18 paintings of local and nationally recognised artists including John Coburn, Susan Sheridan, Max Watters and James Willebrant.
Proceeds of the auction will be donated to local charities – John Hunter Children’s Hospital, Westpac Rescue Helicopter and Got Your Back Sista.
It is envisaged that the sale will attract interest from viewers, past employees both on-air personalities and studio staff, as well as art enthusiasts.
Viewing will be available at Cooks Hill Galleries (65 Bull Street, Cooks Hill) from Sunday 23 May to Wednesday 26 May – 11am-5pm. The paintings can also be viewed at the galleries’ website 7 days prior to the auction day.
Auction; Wednesday 26 May – from 6.30pm with auction commencing at 7pm.
Register to bid; on Cooks Hill Galleries website - www.cookshillgalleries.com.au - Go to exhibition section.
There’s some nice pieces there. Shame they couldn’t take them across. At least the proceeds are going to charity.
A nude painting of Big Dog?
You know what would be really good - one last open day of the old studios before it gets shut down. I’d be there in a heartbeat.
Same here.
I know that NTD and NBN are completely separate operations even though they’re both ultimately owned by Nine. But surely NBN could look at what NTD did and think “that’s a good idea”. Maybe even have their own sale of things from the studio, anything that doesn’t go gets chucked during the building strip-out before demo.
ABC Canberra, ABC Hobart and ABC Darwin do as well, albeit not on Xmas day, but every other day they do.
Nine still haven’t sold or done anything with 6 Blake Street besides removing fibre optics and some satellites over to the new site. The majority of old equipment is still sitting in there still.
Old NTD site no longer has any value due to stubborn local residents rejecting any sort of development in the area. They rather look at abandoned buildings.
Something I’ve just noticed from a press release from Newcastle.
Normally the bottom of the page has all the Nine channels but Nine is 9|NBN.
A press release I just got is simply branded as 9 in that area.
I wonder if they are going to retire the NBN name?

Here’s the OLD:

Interesting.
If the NBN name is retired, hopefully it will be for news as well as the general channel branding.
