Nine (NBN)

Yep. Gets its TV from Mount Dowe, although TV from Mt Cenn Cruiach, which is in the Southern NSW TV1 Licence area can be picked up in Gunnedah too.

There’s a weird weather report that screens during Hot Seat around 5.40 that looks at temps across NSW, sponsored by Honda. Assume it goes to the southern 9 as well.

Yes, though the next town west (Coonabarabran) is part of Southern NSW, as @Mechsta alluded too.

Appears I have just realised that NBN didn’t take the then-new Still The One ident in 2005.

Can anyone confirm this, although there is a video on YouTube with the 2005 music.

Why 3 unique local IDs for Gunnedah?

Surely that must rank as about the 25th biggest town / city NBN broadcasts to?

To the other larger 24 cities have IDs too? Or just Gunnedah?

Is one of the IDs just pictures of Miranda Kerr? :stuck_out_tongue: She is from Gunnedah after all.

I wish.

They should have Hawko in the Newcastle one then too!

Quite fantastic ratings for a regional area.

NBN along with 7 Tasmania and GWN7 would have to be one of the 3 highest rated TV stations in the country

Talking aggregated markets…

On program numbers probably would be NBN because they broadcast to the largest regional reach (over 1 million viewers). But on shares it would be a different story (sub-channels combined)…

Southern Cross Seven in Tasmania 39%
GWN 35%
7QLD 34%
NBN and Prime in Victoria 33%

Don’t think NBN rates as well as it used to, although still a clear number 1 in Northern NSW.

In terms of actual total numbers it’s probably less than we think because of the large overlap on the Gold and Central Coasts where regional TV has always struggled.

what about WIN?

WIN have some of the lowest rating stations in the country
