Nine (NBN)

always the way - Nine has football sponsorships in program. Then NBN inserts their own into break.

Also got a Nine News Sydney update with Pete and Amber just now with the storms.

I’m pretty sure that Nine will often run a long Sponsor Billboard during the ad break, immediately followed by a shorter one that’s actually part of the coverage (ie, the WWOS watermark is on during it).

You’re watching …HD.

Was this just an NBN problem or was it just “HD” on Nine as well?

this actually happens a bit on NBN when they come back from breaks - see it all the time on the footy etc.

I thought Bulahdelah (and Medowie) had been on air since early this year… obviously not…

Wonder what the input link to the Bulahdelah site is?
Is it being fed off air from Gan Gan?

Link Feed with Off-Air back up.

Thanks!

Given sites like Murrurundi and Tenterfield have off air feeds only (though have experienced issues with interference from ducting) I had been thinking Bulahdelah would only get an off air feed.

Good to hear they have both.

I wonder if the Bulahdelah translator is carrying the Newcastle or Taree/Mid North Coast variations of the channels. Bulahdelah is sort of on the edge of both licence areas, isn’t it?

Newcastle…

Newcastle, they clearly identify with the Hunter due to being the ‘other side’ of the mountain ranges from the rest of the Great Lakes area. NBN 3 was receivable with rabbits ears whereas ECN 8 required a high gain external antenna. More people in Bulahdelah would have had Sydney aerials than towards Middle Brother.

And you had the Wang Wauk/Bulahdelah State Forest and its big hills right on the north/east edge of Bulahdelah that blocked the signals from the north.

But directly to the east of town (30 kms east) you have Smiths Lake/Elizabeth Beach digital TV repeaters and I think they all take the Mid North Coast feeds of Prime7/9NBN/SC Ten.

This is not on NBN but Natasha Beyersdorf will be MC and Mitchell Hughes will be dancing 7pm Saturday night.

FINALLY as of today it appears that NBN has dropped that bloody home shopping at 11.30am for Nine Morning News - it’s really shitty when David and Sonia say “stand by for the news” and NBN drops out.

That Hone Shopping around 11 or 11.30 seems to have been around forever.

They have also dropped the Home Shopping at 6am weekends. Kids can finally watch Paw Patrol and Dora the Explorer in NBN areas.

NBN (or 9NBN) had been airing infomercials in place of Nine’s Morning News for many years. While it’s a programing move to be applauded, considering that the WIN/SCA affiliation swap will happen later this week (yes I know that Northern NSW/Gold Coast won’t be affected, but I’m thinking more about the branding of NBN here) I can’t help but think “Hmm…”!
