Nine Cricket Coverage

The third men’s Ashes test at Headingley (July 6-10) will take place in the middle of 2023 Wimbledon championships, which start on July 3 and finish on July 16. Nine has the broadcast rights to both Ashes and Wimbledon.

This is the last time the women’s Ashes will be played in the same season as the men’s. The next edition will be staged in Australia in 2025-26, one year before the next men’s Ashes Down Under.
A three-game ODI tour of Ireland will follow the Women’s Ashes, with dates and venues yet to be revealed.

EDIT: Here is the schedule with UK start times

The ICC also announced today that the final of the ongoing ICC World Test Championship will be held at The Oval in June 2023, while Lord’s will stage the final of the next edition, in 2025.

So how many Super12 games are they showing (other than Aussie games)?

The Super 12 matches to air on Nine will depend on The Block’s broadcast schedule. India v Pakistan at the MCG on October 23 (7pm AEDT start) is huge, but it’s on the same night as The Block reveal episode.

Will 9 have their own commentary or studio team (hope it is not in studio and live at the stadium though)

Nine has to use commentary from host broadcaster Star Sports (similar to the telecast of the past few ODI and Twenty20 World Cups).

World feed commentary with (probably) their own studio/at ground pre/break/post show. They may just use world feed wrap too for non-Aussie games.

Which probably means using the host broadcaster graphics. Cue the complaints for when the wickets/runs graphic is displayed the other way around.

You mean the way that the rest of the world shows it?

Yep. Some viewers aren’t the brightest.

Not a bad selection of games at all.

Presumably, this also means they’ll have to use the ICC/Star feed intro instead of making their own intro with the classic theme music (I can see the complaints on Twitter already)

NZ v Afghanistan might be the odd one out. Are India not playing that day?

Well if they were willing to spend the money, they could redo the graphics for the market. Obviously they aren’t.

But not unusual. I am pretty sure watching Seven’s cricket telecasts around 2005? from England they had the Sky graphics which would have had the same issue. Evidently, not seen as important in the scheme of things.
