NINE LAUNCHES 9HONEY NETWORK WITH EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH YOLANDA HADID

Nine today launched a new dedicated online offering catering to everyday Australian women – the 9Honey network – with an exclusive interview with former model and mother of three, international reality TV star Yolanda Hadid.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, who is also the mother of social media superstars Gigi, Bella and Anwar Hadid, helped launch the 9Honey network at Nine’s Upfront and Personal event at The Star in Sydney, and was interviewed by Nine’s Leila McKinnon. She spoke about her experiences modelling in Australia in the 1990s, her love for her children, her ongoing battle with Lyme disease and her determination to find a cure.

Hadid’s first interview for 9Honey will be broadcast on A Current Affair later this week, with the reality star also agreeing to be a contributor to the 9Honey website over the coming months.

Helen McCabe, Nine’s head of lifestyle, said the interview with Hadid, who is part of the 9Honey launch, comes as Nine looks to grow its online offering for Australian women.

“The audience of the 9Honey network will be the women who watch Nine’s television shows and who are increasingly looking to online for timely, reliable, well-edited news, celebrity and lifestyle content,” said McCabe.

“Yolanda Hadid is just the beginning for the 9Honey network. We are transforming all of our verticals across celebrity, beauty, fitness, fashion, food and travel.

“This is an audience nine.com.au already knows very well, so it is a logical step for the business.”

The 9Honey network launch also sees Nine Digital launching 9Mums, content designed to engage and inform busy mothers, with Nine’s existing beauty and fashion website rebranded as 9Style and 9Honey becoming the umbrella brand.

The brands within the 9Honey network now include: celebrity news site 9TheFix; cooking and recipe site 9Kitchen; interior design site 9Homes; fashion and beauty site 9Style; travel site 9Elsewhere; and fitness website 9Coach, alongside its newest offering 9Mums.

A Colombian beauty queen has become the face of a new wave of memes flooding social media after she failed to mask her disappointment at losing a crowning title.

Nothing like a media corporation trying to force terrible memes down our throats like it’s the next big one.

It really reminds me of that famous Steve Buscemi 30 Rock gag “how do you do, fellow kids?”

Nine Entertainment has appointed Simon King as editor of nine.com.au, replacing Matt Henry who is leaving the company. King previously worked for The Australian where he had held several senior roles including night editor, senior news and sports reporter, columnist and opinion writer.

Shauna Anderson will return to Nine in October to take up the role of 9Honey editor. Anderson was the chief of staff for Nine’s The Today Show and has also worked at Mamamia and Kidspot where she is now news editor.

Nine’s celebrity gossip site The Fix has been renamed 9Honey Celebrity.

The Fix was stupid enough but 9Honey Celebrity?? Hardly a catchy name

I have used The Fix for its online TV Guide because I like the layout. Seems like this is still called 9TheFix.

9Honey launches new royal podcast: The Windsors

9Honey, Australia’s leading women’s network, today launches a new royal podcast: The Windsors.

Hosted by 9Honey’s founding editor, Kerri Elstub, The Windsors chronicles the lives of your favourite British royals.

“Following the success of 9Honey’s royal tour coverage, a podcast felt like a natural step,” said Elstub.

The weekly podcast will go beyond the news headlines, offering royal fans an insightful look into one of the world’s oldest and most private dynasties.

“Nearly three million people visited our website in October and one of the biggest traffic drivers was royal news,” Elstub said.* “ The Windsors is a way of continuing this conversation with our audience.”

Episode one delves into the life of Prince Harry with analysis from Juliet Rieden, author of The Royals in Australia and editor-at-large of The Australian Women’s Weekly.

9Honey’s royal columnist, Victoria Arbiter, offers expert commentary alongside some of the world’s most respected royal correspondents.

“9Honey has become a trusted source of royal news since launching two years ago,” Elstub said. “Now that we have established ourselves in that space it makes sense to try a new medium.”

Episode one of The Windsors will be available to download from today via Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts.
