Nickelodeon (formerly 10Shake)

Flogging a dead horse.

It is still popular, but with every episode on Netflix I’m not sure who would be tuning into Nickelodeon for it. 10 are better off sticking to the core Nick brand and airing classic programming like Rocko’s Modern Life in the 5pm slot.

Probably doesn’t help that Friends has aired on 10Peach for much longer.

Shame we don’t get the ratings reports anymore - sounds like Nickelodeon is struggling just like 10Shake did.

I agree. 10Shake used to struggle when we had access to the ratings shares. Hard to see the figures these days, but i assume its just the same. We never see the 7.30pm movies in anybof the demos.

And The Middle 90 minute episodes from 6pm has been airing for so long, that fans would have seen each episode 20 times each.

I just can’t imagine any children or teens at 5pm turning on Nickelodeon, let alone Free to Air TV.

Relaunch it into a movies channel with their Paramount content. At least it would attract stay at home people.

They have content they could air from across Paramount channel, MTV, Nick during the day, and even act as a barker channel for Paramount+ by airing episodes of streaming shows as previews. Call it Paramount Network and could air content from across their portfolio.

3:25 on a Saturday afternoon. Prime spot.

Have never understood the scheduling for this show, what a waste.

Why not air a repeat of 10’s Saturday movie on Nickelodeon, it’d rate better than half the repeats it offers currently.

The Saturday movie usually gets repeated on 10 Peach at 5:30pm on Sundays, Nick @ Nite already airs a movie 7:30pm weeknights.

In other news, I noticed recently that Nickelodeon has been airing the first season of UK game show Guessable which aired on Comedy Central UK for 4 seasons from 2020 - 2023 and was hosted by comedian Sara Pascoe.

It airs 10:30pm Sunday nights.

Guessable was also screened on FOX8 (following Fox content withdrawal)

Re Rock Island Mysteries. Yet another odd decision with its airing. On a Saturday arvo slot of 3.25pm. And networks womder why children’s television drama is dying .

Re Guessable: thanks for the heads up with this show. I’ll give it a go.

Re the 7.30pm movies. Stop showing the generic ads for them, and actually tell us what movies are airing.

And it’s double episodes on Saturdays and double episodes on Sundays. :man_shrugging:

Feels like 10 just air this show out of obligation, rather than any real care or commitment to kids content or local programming.

Sending out a press release 2 days before the premiere and the scheduling of the series says it all really.

10 used to be synonymous with making decent kids content, oh how that’s changed now.

I think you guys are 10-15 years too late with this. Ship has well and truly sailed.

Ten are bloody hopeless. They are failing to even screen whole episodes of the show. They are showing double episodes of the show on Saturdays and Sundays but they are stuffing it up.

Yesterday, they showed episode 5 but dropped a lot of the commercial breaks. After they had a commercial break towards the end, they failed to show the last segment and closing credits. They just started episode 6 after the break so the end of the previous episode was missing. I watched the final segment on 10play.

At first, I thought it was just my recording but then today it happened again. They showed episode 7 without commercial breaks. There was a commercial break and episode 8 started straight after. The end of episode 7 is missing. Back to 10play to find it.

The Ten network is a joke!

Wow. That is bad. 10 iis a joke.

So they over hype up I’m A Celebrity, with over the top production for their ads, in the mean time neglect this show (of Rock Island Mysteries). Airing it on a dead timeslot on the weekend, on a low eyeball channel, while not promoting it at all, while getting rid of segments. Sigh…

The only kids content 10 can handle right ATM is the Friday/Saturday movies on the main channel.
Someone needs to fix up their kids arm of the brand.

I was just thinking this. Pluto has a Paramount movie channel and Paramount+ Picks which seems to show random programming from Paramount+.
