I would assume they could. Or WIN could source alternate children’s viewing
“Streaming for free on 10 play”.
Wonder if that means it’ll be available to live stream right away, or just catch-up?
WIN could always simulcast Shake on Peach for a few hours a day and win win.
Even better idea, even though they’ll blame $$$ for their decision not to do it.
Drop SNOW, Gold or one of their other crappy channels, and do something nice for the viewers. Even if Shake isn’t exactly top tier programming.
Especially for those who can’t get the Channel on Older PVR’s like mine.
Yes nice to see some decent fast tracking.
Not sure why 10 Shake weren’t initially advertising new South Park from the start unless they had to wait for SBS to give up the rights.
Don’t give them any more ideas for watermarks
How do you drop a channel you have a contract to carry?
Doesn’t make economical sense
I don’t know…I honestly do not know. But they’re going to cop backlash once they find out about a channel they’re not going to get. It’s on them.
I know. But for once, a TV network should actually do something nice for the viewer. You know, like run a show to time. Or not stash shows away.
They’re getting absolutely smashed by retrans fees by the networks. I don’t blame them, it’s a completely unfair setup
@ElCapitanCranky WIN has a contract in place with Sky News. They can’t just dump / drop a channel.
If 10 Shake would pull in more revenue for them than Sky, they would make the switch - once the end of the contract with Sky comes to an end.
At pains to point out that there’s no either or here - WIN could choose to carry all their existing channels and add Shake. There’s no point at all arguing about the merits of SNOW or Gold - those are totally irrelevant to the decision to carry or not carry Shake.
So the end of South Park in HD? Can I assume that the day the channel launches so will the livestreaming?
Exactly. Maybe if we knew WIN would need to upgrade their end to accommodate it (which they don’t because they part own MHA) or if it was a bandwidth issue (which it isn’t as we see with Seven’s ability to broadcast 2 x HD and 6 x SD quite easily), then it may be relevant. But it isn’t.
My argument was about having to sell ad-time on it, and the crazy agreements regional affiliates have in place. I don’t see an advantage to WIN adding it.
If there is the advertising revenue to made carrying Shake profitable you can be certain WIN will carry it
I strongly doubt the ad market is strong / big enough in WIN markets ti make the venture profitable
Charlotte Crosby has recorded a special message for her Australian fans ahead of 10 Shake’s debut this Sunday.
I’m sure both of them will be really pleased.
