Nickelodeon (formerly 10Shake)

The lineup looks so terrible. I can’t imagine this channel getting above a 1% share. And with it not being carried nationally by WIN - It’s revenue will be limited. I’m sure the 16-39 viewership will be stronger - but I feel go, mate and peach Have broader appeal 16-39 content than this channel

A premium drama Channel with content from CBS and Paramount would have been better. But I guess that want that for paid and the new Paramount+

Unfortunately not… :rage:

They are trying to appeal to a demographic which has departed television and gone to streaming services or catch-up.

I don’t know any normal under 18 year old outside of this forum who would tune into live TV.

The only time this channel may gain success is their daytime programming (obviously trying to reflect the success of ABC Kids)

And 7flix and SBS Viceland.

If WIN fail to deliver children’s programming, doesn’t that put their licence in jeopardy?

has any broadcaster faced any consequences for not meeting their obligations? They’d probably get hit with a wet lettuce leaf and made to promise that they won’t do it again… which they may :unamused:

Seriously, though WIN would probably just run children’s titles on Peach. They’ve done opt-out programming before (e.g. running Days Of Our Lives on Eleven)

They’ll schedule The Saddle Club marathons to make up the difference. Seriously wouldn’t put it past them.

Agreed. The channel will be different by this time next year.

According to the EPG on my three TVs, at present they aren’t opting out

Is the fact I suddenly have duplicated Ten HD channels on my Foxtel IQ something to do with this new channel?

The channel is essentially a rebadged MTV at night and rebadged Nick Jnr by day.

10 Shake is exactly what 10 Peach should’ve been in the first place honestly.

Multichannels are rarely about total people shares. The networks are trying to target a fixed demographic that is hopefully different across their channels. 10 Shake’s programming looks sufficiently different to the content of 10, 10 Bold and 10 Peach to attract new viewers to the network.

Nine introduced 9Rush this year. Its total people average is just over one percent yet it often outrates 9Gem in the key demos. It also isn’t available across all of regional Australia. 7Flix is Seven’s lowest rated multichannel in total people yet it outrates 7Two in the demos.

South Park - The Pandemic Special

Thursday 1 October At 8.30pm

2020 Problems Need South Park Solutions. Mmkay!

South Park. The Pandemic Special, Fast-Tracked To 10 Shake On Thursday, 1 October At 8.30pm.

Loo loo loo Pandemic Special. Loo loo loo, it’s coming soon.

Our favourite humble folks without temptation from South Park, are coming down to 10 Shake when The Pandemic Special is fast-tracked on Thursday, 1 October at 8.30pm.

The Emmy® and Peabody® Award-winning series is back to unapologetically slap, slap, slap some home truths into us, with their eye watering social commentary focusing on the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a one hour special, Randy comes to terms with the part he played in the outbreak, and the solution isn’t as simple as knocking out that wall to make a more “open concept”. We follow the residents of Park County as they face the challenges of the pandemic, and head back to skewwwwl with the gang as they face the new normal.

Different teacher, different homeroom, different Cartman. Not even Mysterion can salvage what’s left of 2020, but maybe a trip to South Park can.

So watch it, mmkay. It’ll be good, mmkay.

Yes! Normally it wouldn’t air for a while in Australia after the US Premiere - looking forward to this!

Yes. This will help promote the channel.

I know a lot of people who use to watch South Park who lost interest (a number of years ago) but are very keen to watch this episode.

Due to COVID-19 the children’s television quota was suspended until the end of this year.

The simplest way WIN could meet the quota in the interim would be to either drop the 7am to 9:30am Saturday and 3:30pm to 4:30pm weekday programs from either the main channel or Peach.

If they took the main channel option, the weekday cooking shows could air at either 3:30pm the same day on Bold or 9am the next morning on Bold

Could 10 supply Win with alternative programming for them to air on Peach in blocks to maintain some kind of kids shows in regional areas?

It is! Do a rescan of the terrestrial channels (as Foxtel calls them) and it’ll fix that issue
