Anyone know if The AM Show has a new studio this year? It was too much for me staying in the same studio post Paul Henry, let alone staying in the same studio for 5-years!

I was just thinking about that today when I saw they updated their social media accounts.
Even if its just a refresh of its current set that would be nice.
Off track a bit, but, I think presenter wise they really do well when they interview together as a panel rather then just Duncan always taking the lead. So I hope they continue along this path which has slowly been happening more and more (I know covid meant they had to change how they worked).
I think all shows on three need updating, the project is starting to look shabby and newshub needs somewhat of a refresh especially considering how much they dont use the other side of the set much for its main bulletins outside of sport and The Hui.
Id also like them to do an afternoon version of the am show, same set, graphics and format. It could just air 5pm to 6pm with a different team. Different name obviously

I would be moving Amanda to present Newshub at 4-30 and bring back Ingrid (or Mel Homer perhaps) to AM. Duncan and Mark need someone not afraid to give a different perspective on things.

While I wouldn’t decry investment in local media, I’m unconvinced about another daytime bulletin.
I know it’s about amortising costs etc, but is there really an audience? I don’t even think Midday rates that well.

I was thinking the exact same thing… and if Midday doesn’t rate well for 1, how is a 11.30am bulletin on Three going to have any pulling power?

I recall back in 2015, the then 3 News at 12 rated about one-third of the audience that One News at Midday had at that timeslot (back then One’s bulletin was rating above 100,000 most days). And the audience that were watching the midday news on One stayed for the lead out program (Emmerdale) which I assume is still happening today. When the 3 News bulletin was rebranded to Newshub Midday, the gap had widened to about one-fifth.
I’ll give it five months before they swing the axe.

Wonder who’s gonna host it? Obviously with the 4:30pm presenting role vacant as well I guess we’ll see a range of new presenters coming in.

Would make sense to have Mitch McCann front it and effectively become their ‘daytime/breaking news anchor’

When it launches the show will be hosted by the same person hosting 4:30 PM till decisions are made about the permanent host of 4:30 (Both shows will be hosted by Mitch McCann until a further announcement)
