I used to enjoy Bernadine as a news presenter at TVNZ and I thought she was treated poorly at the time of her departure.

I was a little disappointed to see some of her social media content suggested Bernie was going down the anti lockdown route… hopefully not as far down the rabbit hole as Liz Gunn. Although would be at home with that Ryan Bridge with such views…
I watched Newshub @ 6 last night and it just reiterated how unimpressive the opening is for me. It starts off great with the dark studio and the date, then falls immediately with the actual intro itself.
Surely a rebrand next year?

I would suggest there’s a major difference between believing lockdown this time was perhaps too heavy handed/long and the kind of offensive bile Liz Gunn is posting.

Will be interesting to see the ratings after a few months as it’s obv going to be a more traditional light and fluffy brekky show … Bit of a gamble when the current format / hosts have been such a winner for them

I like Bernadine though am surprised Ingrid was looked over (again) - heading to Today FM as daytime newsreader perhaps?
I would say Trudi Nelson, Angie Skerrett, Glen Stuart, Mel Homer, Brin Rudkin and Geoff Bryan would all be potential names for news reading shifts on TodayFM unless MW hires externally.
