Completely agree. Perhaps an old-school story graphic instead?
As much as that is the answer that would involve wayyy too much work. Just drop the logo from that one and youâre fine. Maybe add a map of the country.
So will this also mean the end of Newshubâs current contract for News First?
Looks like it, unless they renegotiate a contract with Sky News AU who produced the bulletin before Newshub won the contract.
Despite the proposal of closing down Newshub which was announced today, has Sky Open aired any news updates before their 5:30pm bulletin?
As Newshub produces the 5:30 news, thereâs no doubt their proposed shutdown will be the main story. Or unless, they are just reeling from it.
Thereâs an opportunity here for Sky if they want to take it to produce news and really make a thing of Sky Open but it is not going to be cheap.
Here was the story on News First.
Theoretically, could Sky partner up with another newsroom (e.g. Stuff)?
It could - whether there is enough video resource to fill a half hour news will be interesting. NZ Herald might be another.
Assuming the current arrangement stays (Sky not paying a cent, and the production company getting all the ad revenue), and there being no Newshub⌠there might be some serious coin to be made. Whoever stepped in (if anyone) would have to make their intentions known pretty damn quick, though.
LOLâd at Melissa Lee saying it wasnât bad news for media diversity because âSky will still existâ. Broadcasting Minister who appears to know nothing about the sectorâŚ
Yeah that was a shocker.
Would they go back to using Sky News Aust under a new deal to produce a news bulletin for them?
It didnât end particularly well last time - and Iâm not sure Sky AU have the capacity as it stands.
Hard to see how any Australian media outlet could access enough New Zealand resources to put together a bulletin⌠And Iâd be horrified if Sky News Australia got access to a free to air platformâŚ
Itâs happened before - but I agree, SNA not the same company it was even then.
Yes it was much more news focussed at the timeâŚ
Yeah. Prime News under Sky Australia was pretty diabolical. Technical errors constantly. The quality improved dramatically once Newshub took over.
If Sky are smart theyâll be seriously looking at making arrangements with a new news provider (NZME or Stuff)⌠with Newshub closing and now the cuts at 1 News, there is potentially a real opportunity for Sky to make inroads.
