News Breakfast

Probably because she lives in Melbourne and the show is in Sydney on the weekend - the Rebecca Maddern problem.

She could always join them via video link. It’s only sports and not the entire show.

Again more mistakes from Weekend breakfast.

I think Fauziah is okay, but Johanna always seems to whisper. They don’t have any chemistry, but do ABC viewers really care about that?

Hardly looks like a local studio control issue, looks like the monitor in London lost connection (Probably fed via a USB or local PC)

I think Fauziah’s voice is very monotone and drawn out. Johanna’s presentation is a bit more lively but still the pairing is really boring. Kathryn Robinson on the other hand would complement Johanna Nicholson’s presentation style very well.

Are News Breakfast turning more into Sunrise and Today?

I see Nate Byrne (weatherman) is at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne this morning where the musical Moulin Rouge is being shown. Is he presenting weather from there too? Roving weather presenter alert?

No. As stated at the beginning of the segment, Nate only popped down there for this segment.

Ah, okay. I was just flicking through the channels and thought it was interesting.

Probably best for News Breakfast to continue to separate themselves from Sunrise and Today’s way of operating to have their current audience and demographics stick with them.

News breakfast has been doing things like this for years and years. They regularly send someone down for the Archibald Prize and other major cultural events.

Yep, and there is nothing wrong with it. Its part of the ABC charter to cover and support the arts in this country.

@MBB thoughts on these trees?

Looks better than both Sunrise and Today.

I think they look great. Perfect for a public broadcaster.
Wonder if they will stay for the 7pm news

You like the classic traditionally look.

Yes and no. It really depends on what the ornaments and colour scheme is.

I like a well decorated tree with limited gaps. However I don’t like ones that look like a junk tower and piled on with oversized crap on them.
