News Breakfast

Yes I agree. It’s bland and looking very tired.

I wonder if the two main hosts being away, and replaced with one of the regular fill-ins + a newbie who only started this week, will affect the ratings?

I think viewers would be used to B-team, seems more common than not for the presenters to be away in some capacity.

I have really enjoyed Bridget Brennan presenting. She is great!

I used to enjoy watching News Breakfast, but I’m becoming increasingly disillusioned by the format.

It seems to be veering towards the blueprint established by the commercial networks - eg. more joking around and commentary, and less actual news. Sometimes I even have to flick over to Sunrise or Today to get the news headlines on the half-hour!

I feel that it was more of a ‘serious’ news show when Virginia Trioli was co-host. I don’t know whether they had a different producer back then, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Anyway, just my two cents.

Why do all the colours always look so washed out? Makes it look dull, when it’s quite a nice studio.

Agreed. With the 100 various presenters they have, surely someone could start being a news presenter on the half hour. OR better yet, locally presented bulletins.

Like how they do it for Sunrise and Today in Perth?

The weekend version is like watching paint dry. Like you said, there very little money spent here.

They could easily do a change in presenting lineup to make it more palatable. I’d swap Fauziah Ibrahim with Kathryn Robinson who’s more suited to this show with Johanna Nicholson. Fauziah is better on normal news bulletins.

No idea why they couldn’t have used Georgie Tunny (even though she’s based in Melbourne) for sports instead of Cootesy and now they’ve lost her to Flash and 10.

Watching her try and ad-lib is torturous
