Lisa has told Herald Sun that she has deleted her Twitter account for good and nothing or no one would convince her to come back.
What exactly happened here? Just general trolling? Or is there a reason folks went after her on Twitter?
Her Coalition leaning bias has become VERY evident.
I don’t watch News Breakfast, do you have any examples?
I suspect it would be the usual trolling ABC presenters are subjected to from both left and right wing apparatchiks. Usually a sign of the ABC’s balance, but it’s a pity individuals are subjected to it.
It is a shame because both hosts are quite interactive with the actual viewers. The format of the program encourages it too. Far more in touch than the other two shows.
A week or so ago Lisa Millar was quite dismissive and cold while interviewing Mark Butler and his concerns about Greg Hunt and Scott Morrison .
Subsequently she was gushing about Gladys Berejiklian letting parts of NSW out of lockdown.
Quite a few ABC hosts and editorials have the same issues when it comes to Coalition bias.
Melbourne - HORROR story over 300 cases.
Sydney - Sunshine and rainbows and government announces roadmap (barely a mention of RECORD - 5 times the number of Melbourne - of cases).
So has she effectively run away from those who challenge her viewpoint?
Viewpoints can be challenged without resorting to vile abuse which is what is claimed she was being subjected to.
That’s not isolated to one person, one program or the ABC though. I think it is reflective of the strategies of respective governments. The NSW Government has, seemingly, been successful in spinning the narrative over an extended period, from the growing case numbers to showcasing any slim positive. Until recently, rightly or wrongly, Victoria was primarily focused on suppressing the virus so they could record more double doughnut days.
Yeah. I noted that it was across quite a few ABC personalities and programs.
Sunrise, The Age, The Courier Mail are all guilty of this also, and I’ve called these out in the relevant threads.
Irrespective, the ABC should be held to a higher standard as they are funded by the taxpayer.
Have you ever considered submitting a complaint to the ABC about this bias either perceived or real?
Already done
Made my morning
That ones going to do the rounds on social media today.
This was Tim Paine’s response:
