Michael has hardly hosted with Virgina within the last couple of months.
It’s shame given they’ve only got less than 2 weeks left together as a duo.
True, but it is probably better to be away now than as soon as Lisa starts. Also, remember that Michael has network commitments now.
With his other role at the ABC I think he will basically be part-time on News Breakfast, with Paul Kennedy his fill-in which would explain why Georgie Tunny (Paul’s regular fill-in) is included in the new promos.

News Breakfast was less than 20k (combined) behind Today yesterday. Virginia’s farewell should be massive tomorrow.
It’s crazy that News Breakfast is regularly hitting such strong figures. I can remember reading a news article in 2010 about how News Breakfast’s audience was something like 2,000 in the capital cities and there was strong pressure to can the whole format. I’m so glad the ABC stuck with it.
I thought Virginia was originally reported to finish today?
