I don’t mind Dan so much, but I find Fauziah insufferable.
ABC weather presenter Nate Byrne exposes viewer’s brutal note about his appearance
News Breakfast weather presenter Nate Byrne has been humbled by a “disappointed” viewer, who took aim at his physical appearance in a savage letter.
Nate does sometimes look a bit like he’s a bloke doing a sketch-show impersonation of Nate to be honest, but I think people need to remember that the ABC doesn’t run to strict hair & make-up and wardrobe standard like the commercial stations do, plus even though this is the ABC it’s still a morning show. Just can’t imagine the sort of person who’d write a letter (not a facebook comment, a letter) like that and go to the effort of sending it off.

How old is the News Breakfast Set? Was it launched 2019?
I’m pretty sure 2020. Right before Covid hit.
Monday (25.08.2025): Catherine Murphy is co-hosting with James. There is no separate news or sport presenters.
Tuesday (26.08.2025) - Friday (29.08.2025) Catherine Murphy is co-hosting with James. Johnson Raela on sport. No separate newsreader.
They really need to rein in Nate’s every day is free dress day policy a little. Keep it to dark pants (that actually fit) and shoes, with a shirt you can throw a jacket over if need be. You never know what’s going to happen while you’re on air - it’s rather inappropriate to be getting about in red pants and a bright floral shirt while you’re talking about communities being inundated by fire, flood or cyclone.
Lorna Dunkley is scheduled to present Weekend Breakfast with Fauziah Ibrahim this weekend.
I can’t tell if it’s less or more watchable
Friday(05.08.2025): Catherine Murphy is co-hosting with Emma this morning. Johnson Raela is presenting sport. No separate news or weather presenters today.
Johnson Raela is coming along nicely as a presenter. He weighed in on the Samoan election coverage this morning too, which was a good touch.
