Great to see them venture half an hour out of their studio, wonder if there will be other election broadcasts… maybe somewhere unique like, say, Western Sydney?

Maybe venture out West of Western Sydney to really show some diversity

They usually do this, even for state elections. But usually it is just one anchor, which allows them to get around a bit more and talk to voters. Having both of them there (an OB) ties them to the desk.

Is the Western Melbourne ABC studio?

Lithgow?

Please. Get to Penrith first.

Why are they wasting money sending the weather guy to Perth for election coverage, especially as Emma, Charles and Catherine will still be in the studio in Melbourne.

Could they find a cheaper looking desk

No worse than the trestle and table cloth cover they had the other day, but they should really invest in something for OB’s. Doesn’t have to be big or flashy, but this sort of looks like amateur hour every time they do one.

They might as well just use the 7pm studio with a local backdrop. It’s not like they’re making the most of being outside.

This shot of the set is so so so bad. The covid era spacing they still do is bad enough, but there’s no way we should be seeing this mess of grey and failing light boxes when Emma is the only other one on the couch.

All the money was spent decentralising from one side of Sydney to the other

I liked the coffee shop setup last week more than this one. But when Today does an OB, they just bring out foldable director chairs which looks equally as cheap and just as uncomfortable.

Don’t mind the directors chairs personally for an OB.

Missed the reply
