Does anyone have any ratings info for Prime News First at 5:30? Be interesting to compare it with how Three rates at 5:30.
They’d previously stripped Big Brother Aus and Survivor US in that slot a year or two back so I can kinda see their thinking reality wise.
You are right, my response makes no sense haha.
Significant Sky announcements coming tomorrow. (Sport).
I was thinking something similar, something magaziney-newsy between 4-6pm to lead into the news, and that could be simulcast on MagicTalk. Perhaps a commercial opponent to the Panel on RNZ National? It would take a leap of faith for MW, but they gave several shots at breakfast TV and the 7pm problem, it could be done.
Not true. If it didn’t, they’d have been broke in the late 90’s, they couldn’t have funded TV4/C4 and the digital transition. Yes, Radio props up the TV arm, but the company as a whole is profitable.
The solution isn’t to walk away, the solution is to fight. Otherwise, we all may as well just give up, let the sea-levels rise and drown, one by one.
Don’t shut it down, I say. Counter-rant over
Assuming it’s about the reported new sports app which is meant to be a separate service yet not (for some strange reason) be a replacement for FanPass?
Yes, that’s an element. Along with new programming structures.
Is that filmed in Melbourne, or have they duplicated the set in New Zealand?
Duplicate set, the show is filmed at TVNZ’s television center in Auckland.

INTRODUCING SKY SPORT NEWS
CONNECTING THE WORLD OF SPORT WITH NEW ZEALAND’S HOME OF SPORT
Sky will launch a new Sky Sport News channel which will broadcast the latest sports news from New Zealand and across the globe 24/7, Sky Chief Executive Martin Stewart has announced.
It will show live sports news bulletins from New Zealand and around the world including Fox Sports News Australia and Sky Sports News UK, along with breaking news and live press conferences.
Like all Sky Sport channels, Sky Sport News will broadcast in HD.
Martin Stewart says: “The Sky Sport News channel is an exciting new initiative. We will have daily news from New Zealand and around the world, expert opinion and analysis, exclusive interviews, and a raft of features to keep every keen sports fan engaged.
“We’ll also be launching brand new Sky Sport News shows, including an exciting morning news service, live from our state-of-the-art Auckland studios in September, drawing on the resources of our world-renowned Sky Sport crew.
“I’m also pleased to announce that talented broadcasters Kate King and Goran Paladin will be joining us as presenters. They will be joined by some other exciting local talent, so watch this space.”
The channel will be live from 1 August, and our special local shows will start on 2 September.
I prefer numbering as it allows for flexibility unlike Fox in Australia
True - although you could have a Sky Sport Extra/Mix/whatever for overflow
Good to see the new CEO making much needed changes. SKY sounding much stronger lately.
It seems like what Sky announced today is no different to the Fox Sports channel structure in that Sky Sport 1, 2, 6 and 7 will be 24/7 channels for their dedicated sports (like Fox Cricket/League/Footy) while the other channels will be where certain sports are found (eg; Netball on Sky Sport 3) but they’ll be able to show other things as well
