New Zealand TV

Certainly is the case over here in Australia… If the word is any stronger then “f*CK” it tends to get a MA15+ rating

Because no NZ broadcasters were interested in picking Australian dramas commissioned by the ABC because the newsreader aired on ABC in Australia last year. TVNZ were too busy on their British content and Three screening way too much American films, good to see the newsreader being a perfect fit for the Eden channel which is suited them

The Edge TV is broadcasting ‘Stefunny Live’ at 7pm tonight which will probably be the last live and non-music content to play on the channel before it supposedly disappears at the end of the month.

Figures, they’d want to use the channel spaces to launch Eden and Rush. Shame we might be losing The Breeze TV too.

Discovery NZ has announced that new channels Rush and Eden will launch on Monday 21st March.

Eden will launch on Freeview CH 8 & Sky CH 13, Eden+1 on Freeview/Sky 505.
Rush on Freeview CH 14/Sky CH 24.

Meanwhile, HGTV will move to Freeview CH 19/Sky CH 21 and Three+1 on Freeview CH 13. The +1 channel will still remain where it is at Sky CH 503.

So the music channels are staying? Isn’t Channel 13 TVNZ Duke?

+HR=E+1 will probably be on LCN12. Seems strange to leave Bravo +1 on 9 though, maybe the JV arrangement prevents it from moving? Rush would have been better off sitting on 9.

Unless they’ve agreed with TVNZ to shift Duke to 11 (swapping to get 13?, makes sense for 3+1, I guess.)

That’s what I was thinking that Three+1 would be replacing Choice on 12 rather than 13. It’s all abit confusing with the “incorrect” channel numbers in their press release but I could be wrong. If the music channels have survived atleast there is some variety with channels. You’re right it is abit strange that they have not used 9 as Rush’s channel, would of been ideal for it to be in the top 10 of channels but maybe it’s more niche for it be higher up. It’s interesting that the press release says it’s aiming to be NZ’s fourth main channel which is clearly trying to muscle in on Prime’s territory.

I’ve had a bit more of a look into the LCNs, and it seems like they could be on a slow campaign to align the plus 1 channels, so maybe we’ll one day see TVNZ1+1 on 11, TVNZ2+1 on 12, Duke moving to 6 or 7 and the +1 following 16 or 17. Disco’s suite may occupy 13, 14, 18, 19… Why else shift HGTV from 17 to 19?

Any word from TVNZ? Surely with the Paralympics on Duke, they’ll want to promote the change sooner rather than later?

Leo, will Prime have a change a focus when Eden launches in the near future?

It appears TVNZ Duke is on the move and will be taking a higher place up the channel guide according to screenscribe.net, a revised channel list will be released by Freeview next week. So I’m guessing the music channels are completely gone.

Prime has already had a new season relaunch and has a range of new programming from its Sky back catalogue to counter anything that Eden has to offer.

When look up the upcoming TVNZ schedules I saw that Britain’s Got Talent is moving to TVNZ 2 this year to accomplance the got talent franchise to TVNZ 2 only that is TVNZ doing at the moment when they grabbed America’s got Talent off Three in 2020, whereas British version aired on Saturday nights on TVNZ 1 where it achieved big ratings
