It has been automated for the last 12 months or so. Something which I have liked. I never really liked him rabbit on about stuff.
Magic had xmas misic on today most of the music was nice to listen to over lunch
Murray Lindsay himself confirmed this on his last show of the year.
He said he would be moving to 10 t0 3 weekdays in the NY. So even that is a slight re jig of shifts as currently he was starting afternoon/evenings at 2pm.
Its possible they might bring back Gentil in that case for Drive?
Maybe lindsay and bunting are swapping roles??
No, Bunting is leaving I believe.
Shame i quite like him
Iâve heard the magic line up is likely to beâŚ
Mark McCarron Breakfast
Murray Lindsay Workday
Bob Gentil Drive
Mark Bunting is leaving Mediaworks again?
Whatâs the reasoning this time? Last time I seem to recall some sort of a falling-out during his show at The Breeze Waikato (from memory). Whatâs happened now?
Looks like Magic is undergoing changes in music and hosts after eight years on air!
Yes but theyâve changed hosts a number of times in that eight years.
Breakfast used to be Geoff Bryan and Mark McCarron(?). I remember Bob Gentil and Mark Smith being part of the early lineup as well as maybe Brent Harbour at one point? Murray Lindsay came along later. Mark Bunting is a recent addition, after a few years away since he left The Breeze.
Will be interesting to see what happens next year.
@my_names_mr_burns Nope. When Magic began in 2015 the original breakfast host was Mark Leishman.
Mark mccarron and geoff bryan did a brekky show on the sound in the early beginning if memory serves me they were also together on solid gold which preceeded the sound
Guessing just cost cutting as they moved him from brekky to mornings to make way for Gary which lasted all of a few months
Less than 6 months gary was thereâŚgurss they realized pretty early on people want music instead of banter
I think MW only put Gary on Magic so he wouldnât pursue legal action after Today FMâs axing.
Not for the better, I fear.
The problem with Magic is itâs a softer version of The Sound and an older version of The Breeze. Where does that actually fit into the landscape now - both commercially and listenership wise.

Something for people who dont like dad rock or 80âs garbage.
Its funny my parentâs are in the demographic for magic being late 70s and early 80s in age yet they choose coast fm which is more like the breeze they find magic hard to listen to
