New Zealand Radio

Wont be surprised if the test the waters and go the way of The Hits. Take the national breakfast show and have a local days announcer. If the advertising dollars dont fall off a cliff, theyll unfortunately keep it

I think magic has struggled in brekky since mark leishman finished up
They then had mark bunting then mark and gary
In quick sucession
All in a year…not sure of the answer

Magic Radio. Is Murray Lindsay finishing as afternoon/evening host??

Caught him yesterday saying something like “this is the second to last 60’s at 6 on this show for me”.

When I heard it I thought:
1/ he is going
2/ the are just stopping that segement
3/ he is moving time slots

Also seems interesting as referred to by @my_names_mr_burns above about the Shows header being removed.

Murray Lindsay has been in the radio industry for nearly 50 years and worked at a variety of radio stations nationwide, such as Bay City Radio (now The Hits Hawke’s Bay). He has been with Magic since joining the team from Coast in 2017.

Gosh, more redundancies at MediaWorks. It’s been a terrible year for that company. Feeling for all the people impacted.

This is what happens when you have a company that hasn’t diversified its assets very well and is still stuck 20 years in the past.

Reminds me of Sky!

Rod your posts are being formatted funny again.

So does anyone know where Joe is going? She’s been taken off the More FM website already - that was in one heck of a hurry by the looks.

LOL

Found the original story, looks like she was only there for just over 18 months:

Long way to move for such a short duration?

duncan back to switching studios
end of year

Hard to know what carnage is happening at Magic but Mark Bunting said he “thought” today was his last show.

Fully automated luxury magic?

I don’t think they would go that far, but for the Magic format and demographic I think you could cut it to 2 announcers across the day, 6am-12pm, 12-6pm and be done with it.

And just like that, now the Shows link I posted earlier has been taken down, it just redirects to Magic’s homepage (and the Shows tab is still missing). I think something fairly major must be about to happen for them to be doing something this.

The return of Magic Talk?
