I don’t think most of us would care TBH.

Yeah, we don’t need two coasts, one is enough! I don’t mind coast as it has some variety (I switched when magic dropped most of its 50s/early 60s and added 80s to their playlist, as there was really no point listening to magic anymore) and I’d pick it over listening to the breeze every time

It’s a shame though, I really like 50s music, maybe magic will change for better in 2024, I doubt it though. As you said, it definitely seems to be heading in the same direction as coast was 10 years ago.

Magic added 80’s music to its playlist in September 2022, but then dropped it by Jan of this year, presumably because of the backlash.

Still some 50’s stuff on Saturday and Sunday nights though, that is when I tune in now.

Looking for an excuse to punt him?

I mean we are going back 3 and a half years here…for some reason.

But, they’ve ended up with a much, much better product in breakfast down there as a result.

@millsy The Magic Jukebox runs every Saturday night and still contains rock ā€˜n’ roll classics from the 50s & 60s which is my opinion. There’s also ā€œBeach Hop Magicā€ which, as a MUSIC+ station, is currently available on the rova app.

likely turned off the feed and its has reverted back to there standby feed.
Used to hear a different version of this coming down the SEN Tieline in my time at 4BC before a live would start… Basically a place holder so someone logging into the feed knows they have connected to the right feed

I’m a bit of a collector of radio history and was wondering if anyone has read this book? Is it a good read?
I’m trying to track down a copy to buy but it’s proving difficult.

I remember enjoying it when I read it (maybe near on 20 years ago now though).

Someone in the New Zealand Radio group on Facebook may be willing to offload a copy?

Wasn’t he moving to France to work on/start up that country station - or something?
I fancy he was on The Breeze previously, after leaving The Edge, or have I got that wrong?

Wasnt he on the breeze once before

Is he going for the Timaru breakfast job?

He was a weekend announcer or at least did a country show on Sunday night I think?
