I donāt think most of us would care TBH.
Yeah, we donāt need two coasts, one is enough! I donāt mind coast as it has some variety (I switched when magic dropped most of its 50s/early 60s and added 80s to their playlist, as there was really no point listening to magic anymore) and Iād pick it over listening to the breeze every time
Itās a shame though, I really like 50s music, maybe magic will change for better in 2024, I doubt it though. As you said, it definitely seems to be heading in the same direction as coast was 10 years ago.
Magic added 80ās music to its playlist in September 2022, but then dropped it by Jan of this year, presumably because of the backlash.
Still some 50ās stuff on Saturday and Sunday nights though, that is when I tune in now.
Looking for an excuse to punt him?
I mean we are going back 3 and a half years hereā¦for some reason.
But, theyāve ended up with a much, much better product in breakfast down there as a result.
@millsy The Magic Jukebox runs every Saturday night and still contains rock ānā roll classics from the 50s & 60s which is my opinion. Thereās also āBeach Hop Magicā which, as a MUSIC+ station, is currently available on the rova app.
likely turned off the feed and its has reverted back to there standby feed.
Used to hear a different version of this coming down the SEN Tieline in my time at 4BC before a live would start⦠Basically a place holder so someone logging into the feed knows they have connected to the right feed
That moment when you have radio on song is on you change the channel and same song is on
Iām a bit of a collector of radio history and was wondering if anyone has read this book? Is it a good read?
Iām trying to track down a copy to buy but itās proving difficult.
I remember enjoying it when I read it (maybe near on 20 years ago now though).
Someone in the New Zealand Radio group on Facebook may be willing to offload a copy?
Mike Puru joining The Breeze, I hear.
Short stint on that country station thenā¦
Wasnāt he moving to France to work on/start up that country station - or something?
I fancy he was on The Breeze previously, after leaving The Edge, or have I got that wrong?
Wasnt he on the breeze once before
Is he going for the Timaru breakfast job?
He was a weekend announcer or at least did a country show on Sunday night I think?
