My guess is that its a cost cutting measure. Brad Watson is a veteran in the industry, and Laura McGoldrick being relatively well known in entertainment through her sports presenting.
Id say it was a decent investment by NZME into The Hits after having Stace, Mike and Anika on the books and moving them to Flava. I think they just didnt get the return they were after.
I agree with others and moving Megan to drive, with a producer to bounce off with. It will be much cheaper, and maybe give a proper drive show another chance in a couple years.
P.S they need to change the name of the station. Ive thought The Hits was a dumb name since it changed from Classic Hits

A fairly good option, it’s what they should have done with Laura as it worked well during the 3pm pickup. Megan Papa’s would also be on a decent priced contract unless its been renewed post breakfast on ZM.
They are using the term ‘classic hits’ in a lot of their imaging at the moment, maybe they should have stuck with that.

Also sidenote - how do you quote someone in reply to them on here? I can’t quite figure it out.
The Hits, well, I always felt it was a fairly uninspired name, nothing wrong with Classic Hits really, although they eventually became more “Hits” than “Classic(s)” towards the end.

Nothing against Megan but if it’s just a cost cutting measure it seems a waste for a brand that is really starting to compete with Mediaworks (at least at breakfast).
I see that Flava have replaced Mike Puru with Charlie Pome’e from the band Three Houses Down. if Mai didn’t go bland he would have been a good fit there after Jordan left. my point being, if NZME are continuing with three person breakfast show on a station as small as Flava …

When you highlight text an option should appear below that says quote, should be able to press that and it will create the quote block like above, you can do this multiple times to have multiple quotes on a reply.
But FVH is still rating very successfully on ZM - they won’t want to mess with that. Also, they are bang on target with the ZM audience so I’m not sure what you mean by “they no longer fit the youth brand”. Take the recent success of Girl Math on FVH’s social platforms. Moving them now would be silly, but not off the cards in the future.
I think it’s much more likely that PJ would be their best option for The Hits Drive, but it would require her to relocate back to Auckland (or maybe Wellington).

I wonder who with. Being a listener of hers for years, shes not very good at hosting solo. It was quite evident while she was filling in for Bree and Clint this year
wonder if nzme will get jase if it’s true and his melbourne show will get cancelled
