Two minds about this, they must be pretty sure of their subscriber projections. This isnât like the Herald, ZB has always been free to access and it doesnât really offer investigative news coverage as that is the Heraldâs domain. It seems all they are offering is more written opinion and the same opinion at that. How many will pay for that when they can tune in across most of the day to hear it? Would be happy to have some of the presenters put behind a paywall though

Could be onto something there, every so often Iâm tempted to subscribe to NZH premium but the stream of opinion articles under the premium banner, prevents me from wanting to support the actual journalism they do.

Laura McGoldrick remaining though? She was still on air Monday when I last listened, Brad was not though. I think the show was getting better as it went on. The playlist on The Hits at the moment is the best it has been in a while.

Listening to Anthemz which is somewhat the Christchurch equivalent to Channel X music wise but it has ad breaks, announcers plus news and weather. Bridget Hastie hosting afternoons on the stations, must be voicetracked out of Auckland?

Have you noticed how they have the same guy doing VO breaks as channelX, just with Anthemz branding + their frequency is listed on channelXâs MediaWorks page. I canât remember what day last week I was listening to them but it basically was identical to channelX.
Must be a hybrid announcer + channelX to get around the licensing requirements for their frequency.
it is channel x altho because of the frequancy they are on in christchurch it has to be local so its the same playlist just diffent name. same voice and imaging
