A bit of a rebrand with the sound calling itself a classic rock station as opposed to
Just the sound

More trouble for Mediaworks… yikes!

The company STILL hasn’t filed its accounts.

“I doubt Mediaworks will be tinkering too much with the powerhouse that is 92.2 anytime soon.”
That’s what I thought about Fifeshire and Sounds FM as well - and look at them now.

“Comedian Nick Rado the new More FM Rodney Breakfast host.”
Has he done any radio stuff before? From my experience comedians don’t always “map over” into being good radio hosts.

I would have just assumed more fm rodney would have just got the network breakfast show
Maybe testing nick in a smaller market with a view to see how he goes long term

Think you’re right. I do reckon The Breakfast Club will get a shake up eventually.

225,300 vs Breakfast Club’s 299,700 is not a massive gap anymore.

And in some of the younger demos The Hits is pretty close.
10-24 7.5 The Hits vs 8.7 More
18-39 6.0 The Hits vs 6.4 More
25-44 6.4 The Hits vs 7.5 More

I think gold do need to market themselves a bit more
They do play some good stuff
But hardly seem to rate a mention

Kim Hill to step down from RNZ’s Saturday Morning. Massive.

True, as a ‘powerhouse’ it is a shame the station is reduced to a local breakfast show and nothing else.

Yes, looking at his LinkedIn he does have a radio background as a show producer in the UK.

Definitely making some inroads aren’t they, seems J&B are paying off. The feedback I hear from people I know who listen to the Breakfast club is that Paul Ego has been a good addition, rather Adam and Lana they could give or take. The highlights put out from that show indicate plenty of content comes from discussion around the latter two’s parenting, I guess that target demo enjoys that or is it a bit too much?

Good playlist, but hard to market with limited full power FM frequencies and the remainder of their markets on AM with breakaway sport & rural programming.

Article on stuff yesterday re dominic harvey and the duncan garner podcast that was removed and no one wants to discuss it further

Here is why.

An episode of Duncan Garner’s Editor in Chief podcast interviewing former Edge host Dom Harvey has been removed. Garner told listeners it was an “editorial decision that brought it down”. It’s understood some at Mediaworks were unhappy with Harvey being featured.

he’s obviously good clickbait

Mediaworks are migrating all their radio brands to a new playout platform (from Nexgen to Zetta). And because NZ media … the job is “to lead the programming of our ChannelX station while running a smooth transition process migrating all our brands to a new playout platform”

Trying to catch up to NZME. I believe some of the NZME markets have already switched over to Zetta.

I hope that next on the catch up to NZME list is in the podcast space.

The Rock seems to have moved the nights show to playlist only calling it “The take over… the playlist is all yours till midnight”

and Rock Nights host Caleb moved to do an “all nighter” on The Rock 12-5:30am.

Hmm, not sure that’s quite right. The Edge, Mai, George, More, Breeze, even Humm FM still have a night announcer. Add to that The Rock as seems they do have a night announcer now… Jack Honeybone who is/ was the ACD
