hauraki is certainly not the station i remember growing up
here in chch we cannot even get Gold (which is more like hauraki used to be)
unless we stream on i heart radio
and who wants to do that breeze always does well here due to local brekky show
which seems popular
still prefer the sound which seems to rate here
but not in auckland…more choice i guess
I’m surprised that you can’t get Gold in Christchurch. Gold AM on 1503 puts out a good signal across the city and if you’re fortunate enough to live in the east, you should be able to get Gold on 91.7.
That’s true about Hauraki though. Today’s Radio Hauraki is so far removed from the Hauraki that many of us grew up with that they should probably rebrand it and start fresh.
most of the radios here have ltd am reception
I live on the north canterbury side so is patchy at best
hence use the app if i do want a change gold do really improve the reception and also onine presence
guess in auckland there are so many choices people are spoilt for choice
Kara Rickard heading to NZME … filling in for Sol3 Mio next week on Flava Breakfast
Lloyd Burr starts on Magic Talk Drive on Moncday… show called “Lloyd Burr Live”
More FM Canterbury has been on air for 30 years. They are giving away 10k in the #30inthe30
And More FM Wellington too. Both More FMs have been on air for 30 years, although Wellington is the birthplace of the More FM brand, with the first broadcast of a More FM station occurring there on 6 May 1991 as 99/100 More FM.
Auckland followed suit two years later.
more fm auckland started approx 93
i recall with kim adamson and jeremy corbett
aka kim and corbett
doing brekky they were very sucesfull in the day
More FM was such a strong brand in its first years, and then slumped in the middle, but now it’s a powerhouse - ever since Christian Boston took over in 2014. Very solid brand.
I really enjoy their drive show with Jay-Jay and Flynny, much better than the Edge’s or ZM’s.
Yes I am listening now and he is great! I find him much better than Ryan
Me too.
as far as content it feels like the AM Show at drive time. Wonder if that’s why they’re calling it Lloyd Burr Live and not Drive… perhaps he’s gonna replace The AM show next year on Magic
Radio Dunedin now no longer have their own breakfast show and instead take The Breeze’s local show
Real death by a thousand cuts there eh.
@OnAir @Aotea Does that mean Dunedin-based breakfast radio will be simulcast on both The Breeze and Radio Dunedin? Or will Kris Edwards replace The Breeze’s local breakfast?
Lazy but not unsurprising move. If it wasn’t for the arrangement with the Otago radio association the station would have gone long ago I reckon. And because the audience skews very old, their loyalty and listener ship doesn’t mean a great deal to Mediaworks.
Simulcast on Radio Dunedin. Would be interesting to see if they acknowledge that on air or if they just stick to The Breeze branding. The local show is doing very well in the ratings at the moment.
Sarah Gandy back on radio, for Mediaworks. The Edge… filling in for Steph Monks on Workdays while she covers for Breakfast host Megan Mansell who is now on maternity leave
Good on her! Always liked Sarah on ZM. She suffered pretty average treatment with her exit at NZME. Not easy trying to make Sam Wallace and Toni Street the least bit bearable on radio
Damien & Hannah dunedins breeze breakfast hosts also now simulcast on radio Dunedin 6-9 as
Dunedins Breakfast without mentioning the station name same music as the breeze plays until 9am then after 9am Damien & Hannah go live on Radio Dunedin until 12pm.
After 9am it’s back to the 60’s , 70’s music on radio Dunedin
