Mediaworks are looking for a newsreader for their Music Brands -

This would be a Discovery / Newshub role at the moment no? Proof that MediaWorks are splitting completely from Discovery?

Its quite possible that the newsreaders are already employed by Mediaworks directly and Newshub supplies the news ‘content’. Would give Mediaworks more flexibility with how their newsreaders interact with the various shows.

While I can’t speak to this role. My understanding is newsreaders are employed by mediaworks with news prepared by Newshub for them to read.

More FM’s Breakfast Club photo updated, with Matt Gibb (formerly of Squirt and Studio 2 fame) officially joining the team. He has just returned from Australia.

Sam, Matt, Lana, Gary, Speedy and Bondy are ‘your mates in the morning’.

I know there’s only really 3 main on air talents, but my god that’s a busy show.

Its far too busy of a show, which is why I struggle to listen to it. Really wish they would knock it down to the three key talents, two of the other three get far too much airtime.

Yeah I’ve only just started listening to it and not really sure why they bothered to bring in Matt when he can barely get a word in most of the time

This picture is why I’m glad More FM Southland still has its local breakfast show. And with only two hosts, mind you.

The above pic has been changed this morning to:

Who left the show. Is someone missing

Jason Mac resigned in March, he’s been replaced by Matt Gibb.

SURVEY 3/2021 Auckland Top Ten

  1. NewsTalk ZB 15.2-18.8
  2. Breeze 10.0-9.1
  3. Mai FM 9.3-8.5
  4. ZM 5.2-5.7
  5. George FM 3.6-5.3
  6. More FM 4.4-5.2
  7. Magic Music 6.3-4.7
  8. Coast 4.7-4.3
  9. The Edge 4.0-4.2
  10. The Sound 4.6-3.7

ZB finally had the kind of big boost that most other news/talks around the world have seen over the past year and a half. This is the largest share for ZB since the early 80s. (Pre-1992 data is intermittent, but the old 1ZB had a 27.6 in 1982.)

With ZB sucking up so many shares, most music stations suffered, however George rose to its largest share ever, its previous best was a 5.0 in 2015.

No other way to describe it but very disappointing result for both Magics: Magic Talk off 2.5 to 1.7 and Magic Music off even more, 6.3 to 4.7.

I never thought I’d see the day when both More FM and The Breeze would pass The Hits in the 6-9am slot down in Dunedin

is there a link or site I can go to find more on the ratings?

The Hits have had yet another shocking survey - just not resonating with anyone. More/Breeze is a power duo in most markets now. And just looking at Coast, their mid-dawns rates better than their Breakfast show. Awful result.

ZB and ZM are NZME’s only success stories today.
