New Formats

Wonder which network this might be for.

My guess would be Ten.

Interesting, produced by BBC Studios ANZ means it’s probably a BBC original format I presume.

Could it be a new series of The Weakest Link? A Question of Sport? The return of Pointless? :joy:

Re it possibly being for 10, they did mention in TV Tonight’s programmers wrap I think it was that they had another format to announce for the end of the year.

TV Tonight’s David Knox reckons it could be the case.

I think the “pub trivia on prime-time television” format might be a different one to The Weakest Link…

We already know it is.

I reckon LifeStyle will pick up this show.

Hope it’s in the style of RockWiz. I miss that show.

This sounds good. The extra element of the singers uniting when the screen rolls back would be cool.

Not exactly a new format, but would be here I believe, however this is interesting…

Distribution arm Banijay Rights will shop Name That Tune outside the US, Canada, Australia, Russia and Poland, where the format has already been commissioned.

Already been commissioned? Wonder which network we’ll see it on?

Australian versions of “Name That Tune” screened on Nine in 1956–1957 and in 1975. We also had “Keynotes” in 1964 and 1992–1993.

Oh I like this idea.

As a game for children.

It’s the type of game show format which would be great at 4pm weekdays (if Australian commercial networks hadn’t already given kids programming the middle finger), not 7pm on a Sunday night!

People probably thought the same thing about Lego masters.

If it’s from the Lego Masters guys, it should be at least decent. So that’s something.
