It’s not really another celebrity show rather a heap of celebrities singing. It’s not like the other ones where people are eliminated.

The format sees four single women put their lives and careers on hold, say goodbye to friends and family and delete their dating apps as they move into an apartment together for a whole month. The women’s goal is to find true love as they choose potential partners from a database which has been carefully put together by psychologists and dating experts.
Once they make their choice, their potential partner moves into the apartment with them for three days, offering an intense ‘getting to know you’ period where couples are together 24/7 and have more time to learn about the other person.
The experts also set challenges and dates for the couples over the three days, to help them to get to know each other better, while the other women in the apartment offer emotional support and advice.
At the end of the three days, the women decide whether they want their partners to stay for another three days or if they’d like to meet a new match.
Could the format pop up on Australian TV in 2021 or 2022?
Certainly hope not.
I have just been introduced to Terrace House. It is a Japanese show and does require a bit of reading. It is a fantastic show though. I wonder if a Network here could create a local version. I want to say it is like Big Brother but it isn’t. People can come and leave as they like but its just about watching people live in a house.
Like MTV did with The Real World?
Including a season in Australia when the house was located at Darling Harbour in Sydney.
…or Andrew Denton’s House From Hell that screened on Ten in 1998 and was filmed in a house close to where I was living at the time.
Have watched most seasons, they say it isn’t scripted but there definitely is element which are definitely manipulated by producers I believe.
The most recent Tokyo season was my favourite, despite the tragic circumstances surrounding the abrupt ending for the season.
Apparently they were very close to signing a deal to host a season in Australia, before signing to do it from Hawaii.
Overall not a bad show at all, more observational documentary than reality series I think.
Could be some good product integration opportunities to help fund a local series too.
Fremantle will produce a local version of Tough as Nails in 15 countries including Australia.
What’s Making It got to do with them possibly acquiring this show?
10 needs more content, doesn’t sound like a bad concept.
The comments on the TV Tonight article suggest it could be ITV game show The Cube which relaunched in UK earlier this year.
Which network do we think this could be for? My guess would be 9 perhaps.
My guess is 7
I reckon this new game show very well could be coming to any of our three commercial networks, although Nine (potential Hot Seat replacement) and Ten (possible return to 6pm game show) would be my top picks.
They’re bringing back… Pointless! :cynical:
This sounds morbid.
ITV Studios has also picked up remake rights to Mystery Duets for Australia.
Seven’s director of network programming Angus Ross has been saying the network will have one more format to announce this year, post-Olympics. Could this be the show?
Sounds very ‘Masked Singer’. 7 would be mad to go after this format when they already have The Voice, Australia’s Got Talent and Australian Idol. It would be singing overload. Plus they already have their celebrity shows in Dancing with the Stars, SAS and The All Monty. If they really wanted another celebrity show they should just look at using a spin off of one of their current shows like Big Brother.
Conversely, Nine could consider picking up this show after it lost The Voice.
WBITVP has acquired the rights to produce local versions in all territories where it has a production company, including the U.K., Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany and the Nordics.
