Network Ten post-CBS

Yep. News Corp outlets / Murdoch are playing games.

True, but then again Bruce Gordon has a habit of upsetting his partners. Just look at how things ended up with Nine and now could very well be heading down the same direction with Ten

Maybe because they would be able to use Ten’s production studio in Pyrmont, reducing production costs, in turn reducing the cost of the show when Ten buy it, under a similar arrangement to how The Living Room is externally produced but filmed at Pyrmont.

Same as new show Cram also which is produced by ITV Studios.

Pyrmont not big enough for family feud with such a large set and studio audience, but I see your point.

That article is still riddled with errors.

A much more balanced article from Fairfax.

From TV Tonight:

Relocating the TEN game show (Family Feud) to Pyrmont studios could save production costs associated with NEP studios in Melbourne, as well as keep host Grant Denyer closer to family (his wife recently spoke about Grant being away so much). But such a move would also downsize the audience and set.

TV Tonight has been hearing chatter that a move for Family Feud is indeed on the cards. Comment has been sought from TEN regarding Family Feud.

Interesting if true that changes are coming for the languishing show…

But CBS doesn’t own Ten yet. The alleged decision to move FF to Sydney is being done by Ten Management, which is still in a precarious financial situation.

The article clearly states that TV Tonight has heard ‘chatter’ about a move for the show, not specifically to Sydney or to Ten’s studios at Pyrmont.

Surely an operational decision of the shows filming location could be made by current management without CBS, because as you mention they don’t own the network yet.

A rare but significant response from CBS in that SMH article:

A CBS spokesman told Fairfax Media: “The document reported was not solicited by or prepared for CBS and doesn’t reflect current thinking. We look forward to completing this transaction and working with the outstanding team at Network Ten to build on its great legacy of Australian news, drama, reality and sports programming.”

CBS seem to know that this is just b.s. from News and Gordon etc.

That original article was nonsense.

Sure, but that chatter could be a News Corp executive speaking to an editor for all we know.

CBS doesn’t own Ten. They have no input yet.

They have provided $30million to administrators to keep ten afloat until the take over. Whilst not having control they are sort of in the mix.

If by some stroke of luck in Gordon’s and Murdoch’s favour that the sale doesn’t proceed, then that just increases the debt owed to CBS

"Motorsport agreements for Formula One and V8 Supercars would not be renewed,”

They would have just found themselves on Nine/Seven with the bare minimum of coverage with the current situation on Fox Sports. The new owners of F1 are keen to have a decent FTA presence in key markets.

NFL Rights are with 7mate until 2019. Ten could get the rights back after CBS takeover

lol, they’re still pinning their hopes on this dud. Save all production costs by axing the show.

Unlike Ten, CBS has a pretty good record of axing underperforming shows. When they finally take control, they are going to have a field day.

oh well it looks like we can look forward to another 2 years of Ten televising Formula 1 and 3 years for Supercars. I still think its the wrong decision not to renew them.

Omg!! Do you read other people’s post and understand that it is decision that was made in June under Murdoch and not CBS? CBS have also come out and said it’s not their plan! OMG! You have talked BS before but this takes the cake! :man_facepalming:

Nothing will be axed until they have higher rating Austraian content ready to replace it.
