Network 10 2022

At the end of the day, regardless of all the other announcements, Bull is coming back. That’s all that really matters.

I’m well aware of that. You obviously have not followed the conversation.

Ryan said not much announced today then Killy said to Ryan not everything is announced at an upfront so I gave examples of programs that have aired during the year that weren’t at last years upfronts.

Not mentioned during the upfronts or press release but confirmed as returning:

Ambulance Australia
The Secret She Keeps
My Life Is Murder
Pilot Week

To be decided:

Bondi Rescue
The Cube
Territory Cops
How To Stay Married

No mention at all:

Todd Sampson series
Celebrity Gogglebox
Kinne Tonight
Teams on 10 (10 play + socials exclusive)
A second season of MasterChef?

From TV Tonight:

Meanwhile the axe has fallen on Making It Australia and Hughesy We Have a Problem

Mustn’t be returning sadly. Such a big show would have been pumped up you’d think.

Still don’t know why news, which would be the most cost-intensive product surely, just barely gets a mention. ABC, Seven and Nine all pump out more news bulletins every day than ever before – even SBS still puts out two bulletins each weeknight – and at a time when news is more important than ever, Ten is still locked in to the one early evening bulletin.

The Project is fine as a broader news/current affairs outlet, but for all its expense Ten News has potential but nothing is ever done about improving its reach.

Good riddance. It’s had enough time to gain an audience.

Looks like it will probably be a Foxtel exclusive? Probably not a bad idea if we’re getting two seasons of regular Gogglebox again since amy additional spinoffs usually drives viewer fatigue of the format in Australia.

TV Tonight said that it’s coming back, though no mention of that from Monaghan from what I could see.

Let’s hope these ones get renewed. The former two would be good for Thursday nights whilst the latter is a nice little show that could work on Wednesday nights (even though we will probably get triple Bull as always).

Oops, I mentioned that one. Thanks

Any return of those shows would surely depend on how the pandemic situation goes over the next few months?

Hopefully this one doesn’t go ahead - on either Ten or Foxtel. Already a format starting to get long in the tooth, a Celebrity version will probably be the beginning of the end.

No major surprise there.

After four years, this show had probably run its course. No doubt Dave will be hoping his spot on 2DayFM’s poor rating breakfast program isn’t next though!

There’s got to be more coming. Again not enough content. So disappointing that there is not anything scripted.

We know Secret She Keeps is coming next year but that will be probably 6 eps.

They still do not have enough to fill all 8:30 slots for 40 weeks at minimum.

Some of the stuff they have announced is a tad refreshing at least. And maybe something out of pilot week could be turned around next year.

Shame theres now schedule grid this time.

Of course they do. They are only showing 3 repeats of Bull a week. I am sure they are looking to extending that to 10 or more.

Lisa got the biggest bubble…let the conspiracy theories begin…

On drama next year,

In local Drama only Neighbours is confirmed for 10 Peach at the moment, but a second season of The Secrets She Keeps was previously confirmed.

Beverley McGarvey, Executive Vice President of ViacomCBS ANZ, tells TV Tonight , “I think it probably will make it for next year. We’re just about to start on it. It will definitely happen. There probably will be another new drama, but we just aren’t ready to announce anything yet. But we will obviously have drama on 10 as well as Paramount+.”

From TV Tonight.

Overall, it’s a pretty good effort from 10. Obviously there’s always more you could want, but it’s not bad at all.

The presentation itself was great, and better then 9’s and 7’s IMO.

Presentation wise, very slick with a nice use of virtual and real set. Credit to the third placed (?) network, they can talk a big game.

Like most, I would’ve liked to have seen mentions for drama, even just highlighting what’s already commissioned, as well as their news division.

They said it was going to be an hour long, and it was only about 45ish minutes from memory so there was lots of time they could’ve just included those two things to round out a fairly decent upfront.

No surprises, but my god what a pitiful schedule.

Why on Earth would you keep everything the same when you’re a distant third in the commercial channel race and often fourth behind the ABC.

There are real problems, but I guess CBS is content to stick their head in the sand.

Relying on outdated formats that have seen drastic losses is not the way forward. Especially as there is seemingly no new push for new formats or concepts apart from a token effort.

Masterchef sounds like they’ve panicked and conceded defeat because that sounds absolute crap regarding their format change. Very desperate indeed.

Amazing Race sounds way too ambitious given the logistics and the fact that case numbers are still sky high around the world.

PMSL are they really trying to hype up Friends & Seinfeld for Peach. That therein lies the problem of the dysfunctional network.

FFS still relying on Jamie Oliver & Graham Norton. No, just no. The ratings have spoken, no one wants to see that sad shit.

No shock at the lack of Australian drama, I think I read somewhere that the Secret That She Keeps got a second season, so yay 6 episodes of Australian drama.

Was there more of that?? Really? Jesus Christ!!!

It shouldn’t be considering the borders are open for those Australians wanting to leave and return.

Yes it should considering the potential logistical nightmare of trying to coordinate and film an already taxing, stressful show in the best of times let alone in a pandemic.

It’s different though for people just wanting to leave and return on a Holiday or visit family.

What happens if someone gets sick during filming, or case numbers get too high for a potential leg. Delta isn’t going away anytime soon.

Sadly yes

From all corners of the globe there are new seasons of Ambulance UK , The Dog House , NCIS , Bull , FBI, FBI: Most Wanted, Jamie Oliver and The Graham Norton Show .
