Network 10 2019

A million little things premieres Wednesday November 14, taking over from Playing For Keeps.

Interesting feedback from media buyers. Lack of sport a clear issue.

It’s a start… good that there has been some positives, but like anything we shall see how it all goes in a year’s time. I have more positive feelings for TEN in terms of having more relevant content and having new content in the next few years.

The only thing I don’t like that 10 are doing with the whole network rebrand of the channels is using the multi coloured gradient in some things like these examples, it’s just too much.

I do like that there is about 8 different examples of the gradients with 2 or so matching colours though and think they need to stick to these in all uses across broadcast and online.

One other thing I wish they would change is embracing 10play more, they’ve reverted back to using the web address on promos and out of home media after changing to the catch-up logo recently where they should be using that logo in conjunction with the new 10.

So on-air promos would be “… tonight on Channel 10 and streaming & catch-up on 10play”.

When I was in NZ recently I see they’ve embraced that really well to date, our networks seem to be a little slow in catching up on this. Heck even the ABC is better at doing this!

I like it too. Something Telstra has also used with a variation.

Media agencies give their verdict on the 10 relaunch in Mediaweek

Totally agree! But they don’t.

I remember Nine did that for a time on the main channel and the HD channel. I can’t remember if the VO said “9HD” but they used the HD logo. Are they still doing it?

Nine are still heavily using the Nine HD logo in their On-Air Presentation, but I don’t think they’ve really promoted “Channel 90” for a while.

But can anyone actually explain why the words Boss and Peach were chosen?

They say 10 Boss is now “targeting women and men over 40 with programming driven by bold, confident characters”. So what does “Boss” have to do with that?

They say 10 Peach is “targeting 16-to-39-year-olds looking for feel-good, escapist entertainment”. So what does “Peach” have to do with that?

Almost everyone I have spoken to about this has had a perplexed look on their face when you mention these names. Every chat I’ve seen online has been negative about these name changes. So what made them choose these names?

what sport would you pick up? theres not much thats not contracted. perhaps the australian baseball league over summer for weekend afternoons but what about winter?

In a Fairfax interview on Wednesday, Bev was adamant these channels weren’t targeted towards gender but towards specific demographics. I’ll try to find the exact quote later.

Perhaps people are overthinking the Boss and Peach thing?

While I agree there would have been some thought process involved, do channel or platform names have to mean anything these days?

What does Stan mean? Or Dave?

True. Boss clearly means the characters are bold and take charge. Peach is just a cheeky ‘fun’ name. Better than GEM anyway.

GEM was supposed to stand for General Entertainment and Movies

What is Peach?
A nicely shaped female arse? Or worse?

What is BOSS?
Brother of Sexy Sister?

I’ve kind of been thinking that it invokes the mood “peachy”: everything’s going fine, feeling happy. Kind of vibe given of by the number of comedy sitcoms they still have in the lineup.

Sounds peachy keen. We must have flashed back to the 1950s. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Jbar would prefer it be more Aussie like 7Mate. How about 10Bogan and 10Pissed.
