Rumours that Neighbours may be available on Amazon soon too. Cast member April Rose Pengilly posted a photo today with a caption saying that she was a bit awkward on a scene because they were being watched by Amazon execs filming that day. That photo and caption has since been deleted.
We will see Amy’s return in next week’s episodes.
According to today’s Herald Sun, Sharon Johal has left Neighbours after four years. She recently completed a director’s attachment.
You’re a little late with this news…
Sharon initially quit her acting role in Neighbours but went behind the scenes. Now she had no involvement with the soap at all.
In the Herald Sun article, Sharon reveals what she had been up to since leaving the soap…
“I’m finding my new normal outside of TV,’’ Johal said. “And that includes auditioning and supporting local business in fashion, beauty and lifestyle.”
Johal, who hosts a podcast called The Real Ones, spent some downtime visiting her local Dry and Tea styling bar in South Yarra.
She left her acting role in December but came back in a director’s attachment role and also returned to acting for a guest stint.
Don Hany is returning as Pierce Greyson for a short guest stint from Monday 31 May.
Everyone else calls that “shopping”
Sunday Herald Sun reports that former Neighbours actress Nicola Charles (Sarah Beaumont) has claimed she was offered drugs on the set of the show, and came to the aid of a female cast member who passed out on set after using speed, the unnamed actress taking it because she was trying to keep her weight down. These claims are highlighted in Charles’ autobiography ‘Soap Star’.
The last thing Neighbours needs now is more allegations of inappropriate workplace behaviour.
They’re a bit slow. That book came out weeks ago. They’re just looking for more clickbait.

I assume sales were poor and her publicist pulled a favour with HS to get them to print a story.
Sunday Herald Sun reports that model Montana Cox, aged 27, is joining Neighbours. Cox started on set on Monday. The article didn’t mention whether it’s a permanent or guest role, and also didn’t mention her character’s name.
Tim Kano returns as Leo next week.Tim started filming in March and will be filming on a recurring basis until the end of this year.
No holding up the Ramsay Street sign?
This was from December last year. How far in advance do they film? Maybe I’ve missed these episodes.
She could play Amy actually, Paul’s daughter, if they wanted to reprise that character. I see some similarities to Zoe Cramond.
It’s not unusual for Neighbours to film scenes for episodes way in advance for future storylines. When some actors left the show, they have filmed scenes in advance for an upcoming storyline or exit of another character on a longer contract. Another one, with the longest stretch was filming scenes at the Sydney Mardis Gras in 2019 which were shown in a storyline 12 months later during the 2020 Sydney Mardis Gras.
The set lighting seems to have changed recently. Is this permanent? It seems a lot darker these days as well as having lots of shadows.
