Yes. It was once scene back in 1987. A lot has of other stuff has happened in the 37 years since then. 
an alternative could be the Madge Harold met when he was fund raising for Salvation Army wasnt real Madge but her cousin NotMadge and real Madge has returned home to Erinsborough to find Harold alive. Pretending to be the cousin NotMadge because Madge has already been classified as legally dead and besides, who would believe such an outlandish story anyway?
That doesn’t work. Madge was living in Queensland when Harold was found alive and had amnesia. She returned to be with him and they lived together before she had cancer and died. Very difficult to rewrite that history.
unless Madge was NotMadge. Soaps dont need to make sense. Look at how Roman wasnt Roman, but was John Black (presumably because he still hasnt remembered his real name)
They need to have some level of sanity though. Yes, they can do outllandish storylines but that can also lead to their downfall. It has led to loss of viewers and axings in the past.
I’m happy with the storyline. It was meant to be ongoing but Ian Smith’s health issues meant the writers had to come up with something as soon as possible. Harold deserves a finale that saw him be happy and if that is NotMadge so be it. Mind you writers can do anything in soapies so I wouldn’t have a problem if somehow this woman is actually the real Madge.

I agree. It’s nice to see Anne Charleston back. It’s completely absurd of course, but I kind of like that Jason Herbison isn’t afraid to lean into the ‘soapiness’ of the show.
Yeah its great and because it’s a soap quiet drama and far fetching storylines or makes it entertaining for me.
A brilliant tribute to Neighbours. The BBC has today revealed the new opening titles for Eastenders 2025 in the same style as the Neighbours opening titles back in 2004.
