Neighbours have today announced the return of original cast member Peter O’Brien, who will be reprising his Shane Ramsay role.
He will be introducing us to son Max Ramsay, played by Ben Jackson, who is named after another iconic character, Shane’s father Max Ramsay.
The 10 / Prime Video series was named Best Daytime Soap, while recently departed Ryan Moloney was named Best Daytime Star.
When it’s presented like that it’s so easy to identify so many characters who shouldn’t have returned from the axing and some who’s already had their run.
Melanie, Aaron, Leo, Krista, Jane, Sam, Nicolette and Byron can all go. None of them should have returned.
Would create so much space.
Lasiters - Paul and Terese
22 - New family. Husband and wife run the new fish and chips business in Lasiters. Two teenage daughters.
24 - New Family. 2 Gay men who run Harold’s. Married. Adult son who runs the garage, young teenage son.
26 - The Rodwells with Wendy’s niece introduced.
28 - Karl, Susan, Holly
30 - Varga Murphys
32 - Share house like 2007 times Young, hot early 30’s.
Krista is a new character who was created way after the show returned. She is one of the good characters.
Agree about Leo, Melanie and Sam.
Disagree about Byron, Jane, Nicolette and Aaron. One Of those will be gone early next year according to rumours.
I think there’s potential for Terese to have a few nephews and nieces join the cast. Her brother Nick had two ex-wives so there’s untapped potential for family members there.
I’m liking Krista’s direction on the show too. We need a manager to go against Paul at times. She’s warmed with me.
Sadly, Leo, Melanie and Same haven’t done much since the show’s return.
Good to have another Ramsay entering the street soon. Shane Ramsay (Peter O’Brien) with son Max Ramsay. i doubt that Peter O’Brien will be on the show for long. Probably just a short stint like at the final few episodes two years ago.

Holly is really pissing me off. Miserable little upstart. Why is she even working at the tram? Wasn’t it a whole thing about Paul letting her keep her job at Lassiters? 
And as if Wendy would go for that other guy when she has Constable hottie at home. I hope they break them up.
Because her dad owns it - who was also telling her to start waking up and taking resposnibility for her actions last week. Unless they can improve her, may as well have her locked up for the stolen money.
Agreed, and I hope they also use that as an excuse to write out Wendy - send her up to the Gold Coast like all those other former Neighbours characters who go there and are never mentioned again 
.
Also, is there any point to Sam being there - feels like they only have here there to make it seem like the show is diverse - if they are just having her their as a token character, feels just as offensive as there being no character with a disability on the show.
And I say this as someone with a disability.
Does anyone know why Neighbours isn’t on next Thursday?
Edit: according to Aaron (thanks again) the show is now on Monday to Wednesday for the rest of the year.
Is Amazon Freevee dropping an episode per week too or are we going to end up behind international audiences again?
No mention of dropping from Amazon Freevee that I can see. Hoping someone can confirm though.
Odd decision from 10 though to go down to three episodes a week though. Article says from next week until Wednesday 18 December, and will return to four episodes a week in 2025. Assuming that this means that there is a Christmas break for us on 10?
If Amazon aren’t dropping Thursday’s, and we are and still having an Xmas break how does Australia catch up then?

Strange move, but in all honesty if more people watch internationally and via Amazon, like me, then I dont see the big deal. The people who do still only watch on 10 will just keep watching and not really know the differnece except one less ep a week
