###Neighbours’ Biggest Week Ever.
Two Deaths. Two Shock Returns. Plus A Special One Hour Episode.

6.30pm Weeknights From Next Monday.

The biggest week in the 31-year history of the iconic Australian drama Neighbours kicks off next Monday, 4 April.

With two devastating deaths, two shock returns and two intriguing arrivals, this is Neighbours as viewers have never seen it before.

The action-packed week begins on Monday, 4 April, when a catastrophic event rips through Lassiters, destroying part of the complex and injuring several high-profile members of the Neighbours family.

Tuesday, 5 April brings the series’ first-ever one hour episode in Australia. In one of Neighbours’ most heart-breaking and emotional scenes, Ramsay Street will farewell one of their favourite residents for good.

After shaking up Karl and Susan’s marriage 20 years ago ago, Sarah Beaumont is back for more. Having been injured in the Lassiters complex, Karl carries her to safety, much to Susan’s shock. What could possibly be the reason for the reappearance of Neighbours’ most notorious home wrecker?

When Georgia makes an unexpected return to Erinsborough, Kyle finds himself torn between his ex-wife and his current girlfriend.

Network Ten Drama Executive, Claire Tonkin, said: “Neighbours promised us their biggest week ever and they have more than delivered. It’s action-packed in every sense. And amidst it all there are beautifully heartbreaking goodbyes, intriguing new faces and the surprise return of some old favourites who are set to really shake things up.”

Neighbours Executive Producer, Jason Herbison, said: “Every episode next week sees brand new stories unfold, including returning characters, mysterious strangers and jeopardy for all our beloved favourites. The fallout will be felt for months to come."

For a sneak peek of Neighbours’ most unforgettable week ever:

One of the two intriguing arrivals mentioned in the press release is Andrew Morley (Home and Away, Melbourne Weekender) who plays John Doe.

Congratulations to Kym Valentine (Libby) who gave birth to a boy named Phoenix today. It’s her first son with new fiance, former Hawthorn AFL premiership player Trent Croad. Both Valentine and Croad have children from their past relationships.

The UK has just screened their 1 hour prime time episode of Neighbours. It consists of last Monday night’s episode and the first half hour of tonight’s 1 hour episode in Australia.

So, this was the first time an episode screened in the UK before Australia. Looks like Neighbours don’t care about Australia any more and don’t care if spoilers wreck the show for viewers here.

Do you blame them though? Don’t they fund the majority of the show?

It’s still an Aussie show so should screen here before the rest of the world. They should have had the one hour episode last night instead of tonight so Australia stayed ahead.

It would have been better last night too with a one hour Neighbours leading straight into the All Star Family Feud at 7.30pm which featured Neighbours actors.

How is it working tonight then? Is it a one hour episode followed by the 30 minute episode?

It’s a 1 hour episode from 6:30pm with no Simpsons afterwards, took 5 seconds to check the TV guide.

Didn’t take me anytime to get you to check them for me :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, Monday was a regular episode, Tuesday is an hour long episode (but not two episodes stuck together as Home & Away does these days).

In the UK, the prime time 10pm episode was made up of last night’s episode plus the first half of tonight’s episode. It was supposedly more graphic because it didn’t have the G rated timeslot restrictions. They also added pop songs by Adele, One Direction, Zara Larson etc. which apparently just pissed off a lot of viewers.

I tuned into bits of the one-hour episode tonight and also went through Twitter to find out who died. There were lots of emotional scenes. I only found out the first victim. Reports from the UK say another two will perish as the week continues.
I just wonder if the characters were killed off because the contracts of the actors who played them were up?

While the show is the middle of a tragic and depressing week with a number of deaths, they show an upbeat promo at the end that seems rather disrespectful.

Tonights ep was pretty emotional. The scenes of the first victim dying were heartbreaking.
