Neighbours

Interesting they used clips featuring Shane Ramsey from the first year of the show on Seven.

I’m only speculating… but I’m not sure he’s well at the moment?

Still not a Scully in sight…. Very big family in the late 90s/early 00s.

Wasn’t that from the first episode?

I believe so.

Probably will appear in the last ep. Carla Bonner is apparently reprising

I hope so… it’s good that they have a representative from every family over the generations.

Surprised Janet Andrewartha (Lyne Scully) hasn’t returned. She has been on and off screen for the past 20 years, last appearing in 2019.

I’m talking about the guest actor. Nate Kinski was there for two years and those who played the Sharma Rebecchis and the Kapoors had controversial exits and spoke out.

Meanwhile, Denise Drysdale features in the promo and she was just a guest for a couple of episodes.

What’s the deal there?

He approached the executive producer about returning to the cast as regular and suggested his family could become a new family in the street. Apparently he got really narky on social media when they didn’t go for the idea.

However, he does have a criminal record so I could understand them not wanting to have him back in any way, then or now.

I knew about his social media comments, I mentioned them a day or so ago in this thread, but I was not aware of the other stuff.

I’ve seen on another forum that he has been unwell and not in top form to be working again. He is 84 now.

Along the same line, when the original Neighbours theme went back into the top 10 in the singles chart, singer Barry Crocker was asked whether he’d like to perform the song again. He declined and said he wouldn’t feel confident enough to do that now. He is 86.

Everyone’s moving? I had become content with the idea of it ending like any other day…

I’m frustrated how they’re rushing through the episodes. Double episodes, maybe, but three episodes each night for the final week is too much. They’ve known for months the show was ending and had the opportunity to change the schedule to prevent this but went ahead with it anyway. There is so much happening on the show as they wrap up all the storylines and I think they should’ve respected the viewers and given us all time to absorb everything rather than giving us 12 episodes in four days.

It’s ridiculous that most of them want to suddenly sell their houses and move away. Did the producer do it so there will never be a reboot?

Who moves their entire extended family across the world to New York City on a whim without jobs, green card or thought to expense/living? That, to me, was the really stupid storyline. Is Paul Robinson that wealthy and connected?

And the fact that a lot of them have a criminal record!

Nice to see Neighbours’ ratings going up in in the final week.

It would have been really nice to at least get at least 1 intro per episode in the pathetic triple blocks. Can’t have that though have to cram in some more adverts.

I thought the episodes were pretty good last night, certainly miles better than the current terrible state of Home & Away.

So far Izzy has been the best returnee. As ridiculous as her Mal sounds, given her past history it is pretty realistic and the story has given the characters involved some extra believable motivation whilst using past history. Loved her scenes with Shane and half expected her to cheat on Mal to do some sneaky gold digging.

I liked Harold enough, but it would have been nice to see the screen time given to others like the regular cast so it doesn’t feel so rushed. I know many dislike the Rodwells but I was a little bummed I didn’t get any Wendy scenes.

Paul and all his family moving to NY was definitely a WTF moment and sounds so lame. Expecting Nicolette to up and move so precious David can have his extended family bonding time was eye roll worthy. Hate that character and still hasn’t improved after all these years.

Bit sick of the Terese & Paul angst.

So Elly has finally reconciled with the fact that she’s… queer. Not bisexual, just queer. Really hate that umbrella term that seems best suited to a try hard insta ho baiting the LGBT community.

I wish Chloe would kick that fickle time waster to the curb, but she probably won’t. I would have much rathered Nicolette ended up with anyone other than gormless Kiri, even Chloe.

As silly as Paige rocking up as an estate agent was I enjoyed seeing her back.

Mel & Toadie acting shocked that Amy hid her feelings was a little bizarre. I would have thought not wanting to ruin their happiness or cause messy drama would be obvious enough. Then Mel accosting her as she got home that night was a bit much.

Really enjoyed Freya’s little comment about seemingly everyone ending up in Queensland.

Something that’s really annoying me about the Therese character- is it pronounced ter-ese or ter-aise? Every freaking character is pronouncing it differently and it’s giving me the shits.
