Entirely different weather aswell.
It could be rainy with 24° in Grafton, while sunny in Coffs at a solid 19°
Narrabri being mentioned is kinda funny.. because it’s not even on the right spot on the map. The spot where it’s placed… Is Moree!
There are others that look a bit out of place, partly due to length and space issues.
Wagga Wagga looks like it’s west of Griffith when it’s the other way around.
I would have liked to see them do something similar to ABC News NSW, where they show the North of NSW, South of NSW, and Sydney. It would be a pleasant change from Seven, which already features more locations than Nine does on their maps, although I can’t see that happening.
NBN News pulled 138k Avg AUD in the Northern NSW market last Monday, so that’s our yard stick for tonight.
Crazy how this 6pm bulletin got canned considering it has a bigger audience than Adelaide and Nine News Perth.

And that WIN has to pay all costs associated with production of their bulletins but has give Nine 50% of ad revenue from it, which is a declining source. Easy to see why that’s their focus (on minimising costs).
Been recording the Newcastle feed since 12pm.
Came across an NBN News update at 1.18pm. Same graphics as before. Included a New England power lines item and a Kempsey murder trial item as well as a whole of region item on shark patrol drones (introduced as “from the Tweed to the Central Coast”), so looks like the afternoon updates are a generic one for all markets.
I don’t think WIN runs any local afternoon updates elsewhere other than at 5.25pm towards the end of Tipping Point?
Haven’t seen anything related to 9 News yet.
Another NBN update just aired (at 2.05pm - the same time 9 runs theirs at the first ad break in Pointless). Had different items to the 1.18pm one.
And an NBN News promos aired at 2.08pm.
Same update aired in the Northern Rivers and Newcastle.

Is that a WIN created one or a Nine created one (ala Nine Gold Coast)
WIN uses that in several markets. Many have 5.30pm news.
3.49pm update to camera. Still with a Newcastle backdrop.
Be interesting to see what they use at 5.30pm given the bulletins won’t be live.
Probably the same they used to record the local windows.
