There doesnât seem to be any rules about what NBN News should be doing.
Whenever Jane Goldsmith files a report for the Sydney 6pm bulletin from Newcastle, she uses a Nine News mic flag, but at 4pm they can do whatever they like? And Claudia Vrdoljak has used Nine News mic flags at 4pm before too.

Probably a case of not having a 9 flag in every NBN car. If they know in advance (or before hitting the road for the day) they are filing for Sydney, they would probably take one with them. Also no point shooting interviews twice, just for a flag.

It should be a no brainer to have 2 mic flags in each car. Not hard, they take up very little room.

They should, but I understand itâs a department budget thing. When I interned at both 9 Melbourne and Adelaide a few years ago, I was told they have to share Today Show flags because the department wonât buy one for every crew. Apparently the cost adds up for flags.

Make Karl pay for them. All of them. 
They have to save money somewhere to afford heâs wage. But a mike flag would cost probably less than $50 it seems. If they had 10 crew cars it would cost $1000 to have both in each car. Not a lot in the scheme of things. Seems a bit ridiculous if thatâs the actual reason.

Currently on the Gold Coast, looks like the separate local window for the GC is no more.
Cross checked with the Lismore feed, content was the same and in sync.
There was one Gold Coast item, sourced from the QTQ Gold Coast bulletin (Abbey Geran was the reporter). The two other news reports in the window were from Casino and Coffs Harbour.
Weather preview is now a combined Northern Rivers / Gold Coast one.
No big loss really, the separate Gold Coast window never more than one GC report anyway.
Last night only had news from Lismore, Coffs Harbour and Port Macquarie.

Was the backdrop of Lismore or Gold Coast? Interesting to see the Gold Coast window axed but no big deal.
It was the Newcastle backdrop, they do that for every local window now, been like that for about a year.

Thanks for that. The Newcastle backdrop was used on the Lismore local windows when I was on the Gold Coast in August. Guessing they changed the backdrops when the Newcastle backdrop was added?
