NBN News

It would be even better if bulletins for each market were on 9Now.

I wonder if that will happen with the move to Honeysuckle.

Personally I wonder if Gavin Morris presented NBN News last night because Jane/Tyson might’ve been busy with rehearsals at Honeysuckle?

Nine chooses to not run streams in Darwin and Newcastle markets as the internet bases itself in a nearby metro city, meaning the app will glitch and show metro feeds instead. They need to add a postcode feature to 9Now.

No reason why they can’t have it on-demand though, but there is ways around the issue I just mentioned as-well.

Yes. If Seven can, then why can’t Nine?

They should just upload the bulletins to their NBN news website.

Yes it’s extremely frustrating.

I’ve recently setup a bedroom TV with a fire tv and 9Now is directing itself to Adelaide despite living in Queensland. It’s choosing it by default with no way around it at all

Jane’s up the coast visiting family.

So I believe all reports and graphics/designs are now from Honeysuckle.

Some of the full screen graphics look really good and not basic like they have before.

Do you think the set will be more like Nine’s current one?

I reckon we’ll probably get a new look set which is similar, but not exactly the same as the sets used on Nine News in metro markets. Desk might be the old TCN Willoughby one?

What will be interesting to see is whether Gav will get to present weather from the new set or a different area as the case is now.

I think it was discussed in the Nine News thread that the desk at Willoughby was reused in the new set but rebuilt. And there was video further up the thread of the desk and set panels being craned into the studio it looked like a new set.

Jane?

My guess is that SATV is referring to Tyson Cottrill, although I personally think he’d be a better newsreader on weeknights than Paul Lobb. Similar deal with Jane Goldsmith being a better presenter than Natasha Beyersdorf.

Rare sight to see them so proud of wearing Nine, knowing their previous history of being averse to the brand :stuck_out_tongue:

They’ve gone full Nine, shirts, lanyards, water bottles. Interesting to see, would’ve thought those things would be better with localism if they were intent on keeping the NBN News brand.

Well, it’s Nine (Entertainment Company), not necessarily 9 News Newscastle.

Looks like the Nine Northern NSW staff are getting over their old NBN branding fading away, just as viewers would.

They should just bite the bullet now and rebrand to 9News. There’ll never be a better time.
