It shouldn’t be an issue because the Darwin news is shown 30 minutes later in winter and 90 minutes later (during daylight saving) than the NBN news

I’d say so. There has been times where Nine News Local went to air at the same time as Nine News Darwin, or immediately after the other.

Surely they couldn’t have gone to air at the same time? Was there ever a time that they were both controlled from QTQ but in different studios?
I believe during the Australian Open NNL was pre-recorded at times.
There has been times where Local ended 2 minutes early so Paul could get into the studio and present NT immediately after.
It will be interesting to see how it works though during non-daylight savings periods.
