Footage has been released around a POI on her doorstep. It’s sadly all looking rather grim now.
I doubt we will see Savannah on Today for a long time, possibly not this year. This stuff just breaks people, I don’t know how she and her family is coping.
The man who was released, a 36-year-old named Carlos, said that he had been in his car on Tuesday evening in Rio Rico, Ariz., about an hour’s drive south of Tucson, when police officers asked him his name and then detained him.
He was held for several hours, he said, before eventually being released with wrists swollen from handcuffs.
Carlos, who declined to provide a last name, told reporters on Wednesday that the police detained him for several hours before releasing him.
He said he had not heard of Nancy Guthrie, who was abducted from her home near Tucson on Feb. 1, but hoped that the police found the culprit.
“I hope they get the suspect, because I’m not it,” he said. “They better do their job and find the suspect that did it so that they can clear my name.”
This is such a horrific situation, I can’t imagine what the whole family must be going through .
Sam Guthrie is the heart and soul of today as was Hoda when she and Sam were hosting together . The whole team at NBC Today are supporting her through this in the best way they can.
So incredibly sad and frustrating because I really don’t understand who kidnaps an 84 year old.
NBC sold the regional news network NECN to Charter, who will rename the channel under the Spectrum News umbrella (combining it with Spectrum’s existing services in New England), but keep broadcasting from the same facility shared with NBC Boston.
It does make you wonder on the succession plan at Today. I don’t think Savannah will return to be honest and I doubt Hoda will return to the program full time as a replacement.
Probably Kristen Welker or Sheinelle Jones if I was being honest.
Can’t blame Savannah if she chose to leave given the tragic circumstances. She’s had a great run though nonetheless having taken over the show in tumultuous circumstances herself.
