But that’s the show. MSNBC in general has long been known for being skewed towards the Democrats. And Joe was actually a Republican for decades. He was elected to the House of Representatives as a Republican. He only left the GOP after Trump became president.
I could say that I find Fox and Friends unwatchable, because of their hosts’ intense Republican bias and blatant hatred of President Biden and VP Harris. (I do think this btw) And you’d probably disagree with me vehemently. My point is, it’s a good thing we have options. Pro-Democrat (MSNBC), pro-Republican (Fox) or somewhat neutral (CNN). So there’s something for everyone.
An update on Times | CNBC: They announced their incoming talents and programme lineup during their launch party earlier this month. For the former, their main 12 pundits were all poached from the likes of Globo and SBT; as for latter, it’d be 15 hours of live news on weekdays, plus infotainment programmes on weekday evenings and entertainment shows on weekends.
This is the weekday schedule, excerpted from thesetwo articles:
• 07:00 am to 09:30 am – Now with Rafael Ihara (Live) - Asian market closing/European market watch
• 09:30 am to 13:00 pm – Real Time with Marcelo Torres (Live) - Brazilian market opening watch
• 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm – Money Times with Natalia Ariede and Renan Souza (Live - from Abu Dhabi)
• 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm – Radar with Fabio Turci (Live) - Brazilian market closing watch
• 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm – Times | CNBC News with Christiane Pelajo (Live) - national and international news, analysis and interviews
• 9:00 pm to 10:00 pm – Connection with Marcelo Favalli (Live) - joined by CNBC’s US headquarters and bureaus around the world
• 11:00 pm to 12:00 am – Idea Hunter, a business reality show hosted by Natalia Ariede (New) - a $1 mil prize to the most innovative pitch
The channel is now slated for a 17/11 launch, and will be available via local cable operators, FAST or streaming.
No wonder CNN needed to push their business channel earlier - this lineup looks more promising!
[UPDATE] The prelaunch promo of their opening special:
Also: Johannesburg-based CNBC Africa has changed to the new peacock on their socials, but it was plastered on their existing graphics even worse than what Indonesia did.
Times | CNBC was launched on the past Sunday night, and it’s uh… disappointing at best. Numerous viewers complained the channel wasn’t available on YouTube or the cable platforms as promised, and the broadcast was filled with technical problems and filler videos. This is part of the opening show:
People are also starting to find out what the “Exclusive Licensee” in their full name meant - their agreement with CNBC is only on “content licensing”, but not the full branding.
That’s probably why Times Brasil stuck their name at the front, plus an inaccurate adaptation of the CNBC graphics. Compare this snippet on their channel, featuring glitchy supers in the wrong typeface:
… to a (supposably) later report:
In fact, only the Times Brasil brand is prominently shown in programme openers, with no peacock in sight:
Does anyone have NBC News (Now) issues the last few days?
I have the NBC News app on my Amazon Fire TV & have had no issues watching NBC News Now until 3 days ago, when suddenly it says I can’t view the content as it’s Geo-blocked at my location, so I can’t watch the live stream but I can still watch the prerecorded/packaged stories, etc.
I don’t use a VPN to watch NBC News Now & never have, I can watch it on my phone though through the NBC News web site, so I can only guess it’s a NBC News app update with a bug on the Fire TV?
