Especially since April 1 is the Easter Monday public holiday.
Do the new 3GL and K-Rock have the same owner?
Yes.
I thought the limit was 2 stations per owner. Hopelly Geelong Broadcasters got appoval from the ACMA before brining back 3gl
I think thatās 2 commercial stations. 1341 is technically an HPON licence.
Yes, a loophole thatās exploited in many places. Toowoomba springs to mind, with SCA owning a few HPON licences on which they run some of their DAB services (country and chill, I think)?
Some ex-Grants stations are running Kix Country stations on HPONs as well?
Nah they sold 93.7 to 4TAB many many years ago and 91.5 to SEN, and now only own 99.1 which runs the MMM Country Format⦠Should have sold the 99.1 as it is only 25w off the studios in town and kept the 91.5 which is 1kw off Mount Kynock so MMM Country has good coverage like it used to when it was on 91.5, lot of unhappy listeners when it was sold including my Girlfriends mother in Helidon.
yeah a couple spring to mind just in the Wide Bay and Central Queensland
Rockhampton, Harvey Bay, Bundaberg
Kix country DAB on the Gold Coast too
Tamworth springs to mind which is a HPON, considering Grant does not have a commercial licence in Tamworth.
Pretty sure it is a LPON on 88mhz if I recall correctly, unless that has changed over the last few years?

Sorry I ment LPON

Guess having 1 frequency jammed with god bothering isnāt enough they have to take up a AM frequency too ![]()
And the fact thereās 2 other Christian Broadcasters in the joint as well so thatās 4 spots on the band
Shouldnāt that be a breach of licence, putting the same service on two different frequencies in the same market?
I know commercial radio canāt do this, so I donāt see why narrowcasters should be able to either.
It reduces choice / competition.
Here in Melbourne, Vision Christian radio is on two different X-band frequencies.
