There’s been plenty of good music over the years that was never a commercial success.. Each to their own of course in terms of everyone’s own definition of ‘good music’.
His collaboration with Lost Frequencies on “Where Are You Now” did chart well in Australia though.
Exactly. Your idea of good music, like you screaming the Radiators’ Gimme Head is different to me chilling with Kyile Minogue’s Breathe.![]()
Of course. It’s an opinion.
Yes, but could probably have been expressed a bit better than just saying “it sucks”.
Yeah…..it blows. ![]()
Haha fair.
I find his voice irritating and his whole ‘sad-boy’ genre of music (originals or covers) just unlistenable. His cover of ‘Dancing on my Own’, while higher charting of the original - lacked any heart or soul and the ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ cover is egregious - a slowed-down version of one of the great pop songs in history - again, stripped out of the heart - and the whole dueting with a dead person just leaves me cold and Whitney leaves him in the dust with her vocals.
Yes agree, there have been a lot covers/remixes like that which (to my ears) don’t do the original versions justice.
They sound to me a bit like a cheap excuse to make a few bucks rather than really be any meaningful attempt to create music that will live on.
The only positive for me is that they may help younger listeners to discover older music more.
This is a jam. Thank you YouTube Music for helping me discover this.
Yes, the old your browser is shit, please upgrade jam. ![]()
It is unfortunate that she isn’t getting any airplay or success here. Jade hasn’t stepped a foot wrong in her solo career IMO. Every single has been a bop and the album has no skips. Her videos and concepts have also been ![]()
She was interviewed on the Maddy Rowe show on Nova on Tuesday night, though.
Maybe it’s just that Aussie music fans don’t rate her at the same level as (say) a Lola Young or Olivia Dean.
The link works… YouTube Music displays the link funny.
I have no doubt, I’m being your standard, loveable dickhead. Given I’ve been sick at home after being up half the night with a killer hypo and headaches, and other icky stuff…coming up with comedic genius like that was hard. ![]()
That’s Showbiz Baby! has debuted at #11 on the ARIA Albums Chart, with “Play” by Ed Sheeran topping the chart.
On the singles chart, there’s no flooding of Ed Sheeran inside the top 30, with “Sapphire” instead coming in at #34.
Well Sapphire was released 14 weeks ago and there have already been other singles released from that album in the last few months.
Ed Sheeren has little appeal to younger audiences now so will not flood the charts with album tracks in the same way teen pop idols do.
The ARIA Charts still have a major problem when you see 8 tracks from K Pop cartoon artists from a Netflix movie dominating the Singles Chart.
Well just wait until Taylor Swift drops The Life of a Showgirl in two weeks.
When she dropped The Tortured Poets Department in April last year, the top ten was all Taylor.
That’s when the best comedy happens what do you mean ![]()
Anyway get well soon mate
Taylor Swift: The Life of a Showgirl movie will have a limited screening in Australian cinemas from October 3 to 5, coinciding with the release of the album of the same name. Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, September 23.
