According to the COVID-19 roadmap released by the Victorian Government today, cinemas in Melbourne won’t reopen until around November 23, just in time for the busy Christmas period. Regional cinemas can reopen around October, subject to criteria set out in the third step of the roadmap.
By November, movies like Tenet and Mulan (I still expect it to be screened in cinemas for people who don’t subscribe to Disney+ ) will have been in the final weeks of screening in other states and territories, and will have to compete against other new releases in Victoria.

WB have released the much anticipated trailer to the latest Dune movie

Saw Bill and Ted Face the Music on the weekend. if you are a bill and ted fan you’d enjoy it. it’s not oscar winning material at all but it’s 80 mins of good mindless fun (which is what we need right now)

I’ve checked all the discs earlier and none of them appear to have any rot.

Big delay for the release of the latest Bond movie.

As the result, Fast & Furious 9 will now be released on May 28, 2021.

Awesome! This is much better than just removing all of this iconic content. I hope that other services consider this type of action instead of just deleting episodes and movies.

Nine’s Openair Cinemas that is currently called the Disney+ Drive-In is doing rather well. It starts in Sydney tomorrow night in the Bankwest Stadium, Parramatta carpark. Over half of the sessions are sold out.

Marvel movie Shang-Chi and the Ten Rings finished filming in Sydney on Saturday, October 24. It is scheduled to be released in cinemas in July next year.

UPDATE 28/10: Premier Daniel Andrews said this morning that discussions with the cinema industry regarding the reopening of indoor cinemas were ongoing, but stressed that “no time at the movies is worth putting at risk everything we have built”.
