DOnt they typically do this when they air the Bonds on 9Gem? Feels like whenever they run them on 9Gem they then re-air very quickly on 9Go! or at least they did during the first few times they ran their Bond marathons.
totally
the excorist is totally indeginous right
lmfao
Yes
World Movies tends to still be for foreign language films - it probably feels like something that’d suit Viceland’s remit (if it even has one these days). It’s actually not the first time SBS has shown it; it aired back in April this year and yes it was on NITV then too.
They do not appear to have On Demand rights - SBS edited a 2020 article about an adjacent film with screening details for NITV’s original showing, and they explicitly said “no catch-up”.
There is a video on YouTube that supposedly shows what they edited for the NITV release but I’ll leave finding that as an exercise to the reader for obvious reasons.
hardly any non english movies on sbs wm tho
so much for “world” movies
I wouldn’t say that’s true anymore, certainly language and prime time, many mainstream movies, some well known Hollywood titles even classics or blockbusters (how they afford these rights is another question, also how the commercials manage to miss or perhaps pass on them).
ABC / ABC Plus airing some too recently, like Sony’s I Know What You Did Last Summer and tonight modern favourite A League of Their Own.

FTA premiere, only released less than a year and a half ago too
Is this a record?
Another Friday night with some good titles across FTA:
Father Stu (first run), A Perfect Murder, The Craft (ABC Plus!), Spiderman, Flash Gordon, Demolition, Morgan, The Next Three Days, The Thomas Crown Affair (1999), Valkyrie, War of the Worlds, Point Break (1991), The Hurt Locker and Josie and the Pussycats (!?) (NITV!?!?)
And SBS World Movies set up for yet another good share (the second last two titles above).
